African Satellite World and Sat Gear

I will address that part of your query. But first, what do you mean by 'channel nyingi zaidi'? What exactly do you wanna watch: movies, news, sports?

"Unataka chaneli kama gani ndugu yangu"

hi, how much is it there? 😛lane:

Hi Ranksat. I hope they are coz their signal strengths are maximum when using the laptop as per the signal strength bars.

That is not all there is to it bro. You need to check what kind of signal it is: whether EDGE/GPRS (2.5G) or HSPA/WCDMA (3G). Only the latter is likely to be of use to you in so far as IPTV is concerned. The signal should be strong and stable throughout.

Public view channel on 12476V on nilesat curently Fta enjoy while it lasts

FTA Nash had put this pic several months back in another forum. beautiful, i must say. The pole mount is on the inside and held up by a triangular protuberance on the clamp

Thanks Mwangi and FTA NASH . I don't know if FTA NASH receives JSC +1 to +5 'coz when I scan mine I get JSC 1 fta only. What frequency are you using sir if at all u get the above channels.

Hey try to disable the PIN prompt then try again and report whether it
it will function.

I want more sports and news channels

In that case, get a 120-150cm offset dish or 180cm prime focus dish coupled to a good quality LNB and swing it towards nilesat @7West.

JSC +1 to +5 are on nilesat 102 whose footprint terminates in upper Ethiopia. You need a 2.4m offset for that in Kenya

IPTV on SRT4922

Last night I managed to load the new software, 1.37P into the SRT4922. I got 96 IPTV channels listed.

I also managed to input and save the 3G IP settings for modem as follows:

CONNECTION TYPE = 3G Modem; APN = safaricom; PHONE NUMBER = *99#; USERNAME = saf; PASSWORD = data; OPERATOR = NONE;

My modem is: Safaricom Huawei Mobile Broadband Modem, Model No.E303

Initially, the modem could not connect. It was displaying a message “CONNECTION FAILED, TIME OUT”. However, once I disabled the modem option for requesting PIN ….. it worked!!! The settings are saved permanently. To to watch IPTV all I do now is to simply insert the modem. It would have been great if the USB port was at the rear part of the decoder.

Out of the 96, only about 10 are off air. At least there are 40 good "All Family Viewing" channels (sports, comedy, movies, cartoons, news. There are also some 10 "Explicit" channels which one can only view alone in private! How can I delete some of these?

Now there is a new challenge, the IPTV consumes close to 100MB per hour! It is a “fuel guzzler” indeed!

I will organize for a monthly unlimited internet connection.
However, paying for unlimited internet connection at around 2K to 3K per month would be similar to taking me back to pay-Tv days!! So let me weigh the cost versus benefit and decide.

Thanks to all of you who offered me “technical support”. All I can say for now is that the SRT4922 is a great, affordable machine. Have a nice day.

Thanks for sharing this info. Is there any way one can configure the modem for it to consume less mbs per minute
