All,
Attached check some work done yesterday for a client at Nairobi in the hot afternoon sun: 3-LNB Setup on 180Cm Prime Focus to receive Nilesats (7W), SES5 (5E) and Amos5 (17E). The arrangement for 2 extra LNBs (both Stargold 0.3dB) looks crude but works great anyway. The LNB on SES5, managed 70% Signal and 55% Quality; while Amos5 LNB scored 60% Signal and 47% Quality. All TPs on all the Satellites are amazingly stable and not breaking.

For the Nile201 TPs, the Samson LNB works great with the Nilesats and even beats the much-promoted Stargold Fuji and the Inverto Black LNB by up to 15% on quality. While the Fuji and Inverto could not stabilize the CNN and BBC without breaking, the Samson did so with ease, and brought in all TPs on the Nile201 (70% Signal and 58% Quality) and Eutelsat 7West A (75% Signal and 70% Quality).

In addition, a Star-gold Fuji LNB was fixed on an extra 180Cm Prime Focus to receive the local channels now available on NSS12 (57E). With this setup I got: Family TV 1, Family TV2, NTV, QTV and KTN (11026 H 11430-3/4, QPSK, DVB-S2, MPEG-4) and K24 plus a host of local FM stations (11554 H 3300-3/4, QPSK, DVB-S2, MPEG-4). All these are in DVB-S2 format. The performance was 75% Signal and 70% Quality. Sayare TV (11545 H 1085-3/4, DVB-S) did not pop-up.

"Hi, FTA Nash, where did you buy the Samson lnb"

Thanks for your reply, you can press the red button to have full screen. It seems most of the channels are not showing especially the JSc ones.

I am glad for that, I have not yet explored the entire serving till I buy the monthly unlimited. I think that may be the reason why Wizkid has been getting rid of may be those that were not operating from the initial 182.

Hi Kibukila,

Amongst the some that I tried, Zee Business, Star World HD, Star Plus and Comedy Central HD could open though I still haven't realised the trick to make them show on full screen!
Anyone knowing how I can make that happen kindly do come to my help. Thanks all.
I salute you all. I have a problem which I believe the house members can help me solve. My iptv has never been stable. The picture keeps on freezing and its really not viewable. I have tried it with safaricom, airtel and orange giving me the same results. What could be the problem? For those who are having a perfect uninterrupted streaming, what modem(s) are you using? and which ISP? please bull doz me out of this mayhem. No giving up until we arrive there. Thank you. Good day.

Hi Comrades, I have just bought a 130 cm ku band satellite dish but the installation is tedious and tricky especiallly the clamp at the back, can any guru post for us photos of how the back mount looks like and the the diameter of the required pole mount. is the pole supposed to ne inside or outside ? Much obliged pse.

FTA Nash had put this pic several months back in another forum. beautiful, i must say. The pole mount is on the inside and held up by a triangular protuberance on the clamp

I will address that part of your query. But first, what do you mean by 'channel nyingi zaidi'? What exactly do you wanna watch: movies, news, sports?

IPTV on SRT4922

Last night I managed to load the new software, 1.37P into the SRT4922. I got 96 IPTV channels listed.

I also managed to input and save the 3G IP settings for modem as follows:

CONNECTION TYPE = 3G Modem; APN = safaricom; PHONE NUMBER = *99#; USERNAME = saf; PASSWORD = data; OPERATOR = NONE;

My modem is: Safaricom Huawei Mobile Broadband Modem, Model No.E303

Initially, the modem could not connect. It was displaying a message "CONNECTION FAILED, TIME OUT". However, once I disabled the modem option for requesting PIN ….. it worked!!! The settings are saved permanently. To to watch IPTV all I do now is to simply insert the modem. It would have been great if the USB port was at the rear part of the decoder.

Out of the 96, only about 10 are off air. At least there are 40 good "All Family Viewing" channels (sports, comedy, movies, cartoons, news. There are also some 10 "Explicit" channels which one can only view alone in private! How can I delete some of these?

Now there is a new challenge, the IPTV consumes close to 100MB per hour! It is a "fuel guzzler" indeed!

I will organize for a monthly unlimited internet connection.
However, paying for unlimited internet connection at around 2K to 3K per month would be similar to taking me back to pay-Tv days!! So let me weigh the cost versus benefit and decide.

Thanks to all of you who offered me "technical support". All I can say for now is that the SRT4922 is a great, affordable machine. Have a nice day.

Hi Ranksat. I hope they are coz their signal strengths are maximum when using the laptop as per the signal strength bars.

Impressive!... Just wondering what goodies do you get from Amos 15? Another thing is with the many LNBs , are you using a single Diseqc Switch or multi ? I am keen on knowing how to setup a multi Diseqc swtch like this one

multi lnb set up.jpg

Anyone who has ever done this kindly share your ideas, esp the part of the receiver set up. Thanks
