African Satellite World and Sat Gear

Thanks for the great review.
I wish you were closer to me i would take the Titanium for a walk. I also envy you guys for the Gulfstar dishes, when well assembled they perform like Eurostar or even better.
Now down to my observation/recommendation.
1. Different dishes although collocated side by side perform differently so you erred if you only inserted lnb corrected skew and waited.
2. A tape measure to a sat enthusiast is like a No. 10 spanner or stars crewdriver. measure the focal lengths on both dishes and note if there are any disparities.
3. Is there any obstruction on your satellite path ? how far if any ?
4. Do you have a spirit level to measure whether your base is flat.
5. I don't discount your skills but how tight are the spaces between petals ?
6. Have you tried inverting polarities on the Titanium to see which probe is stronger ?

I am not bragging but my 3740 on V7 is nearly Q72 24/7 only midnight reduces slightly to 69 for minutes. Location Kiambu Central .KE
You are welcome Giden.
Haha sure you would, but i m sure you would have taken a longwalk.
Yeah I'm happy with gulf star dishes , they really do justice.

Thank you for your skilful observation and recommendations, its a class, I have taken notes.

1. I didnt go that far into measuring the focal lenghs between the two dishes as my experimenation was more on LNB rather than the dishes.(I acknowledge your point)
2. Both lnbs were tested in both dishes to get their signal readings in both dishes, not that one lnb was on one dish only and another on the other, all through the experimentation.
3 & 4. I have a flat cemented space in my backyard, and no physical obstruction except at fewtimes when the sun hits directly the focal angle around 13.00 but very rarely, and luckily enough am on a high land, like 15 minutes 80km pH drive from the city (Morogoro) (literally close to half top Luguru mountains) and there is no obstruction, non that I know!
5. Not at all brother, no problem with spaces between petals( as I recently tightened them after a long use!)

6. Signal wise on the titanium, Horizontal works better than the vertical and more stable.
On 3740 You are slightly ahead of me by 2 as my readings are 70, but slightly changes to 69, that's all( gulf star six ft with gulf star 777)

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be broadcast in Bangladesh by Bangladesh Television (BTV), Maasranga TV and Nagorik Television, it was announced in a ceremony at a city hotel recently.
Maasranga Tv.....Apstar 7 @76e

Viewers of India enjoy the fifa world cup live on Sony Network as Its Football world cup 2018 official broadcaster of India country . Sony Ten 2 / Sony Six / Sony ESPN channel bring the world cup live in india. @68.5e

Here goes! FIFA, the world governing-body for soccer, has just awarded Kwesé Sports the exclusive free-to-air rights to broadcast the finals of the FIFA World Cup 2018 tournament in sub-Saharan Africa (except South Africa).
Kwesé Sports will broadcast the World Cup exclusively for FREE in over 40 countries, at the same time. This has never happened before in African history. This is why this is such a big deal for us, and for Africa!
# Kwesé Sports will broadcast the finals for free in English, French and Portuguese.
# I believe we will probably broadcast the final itself to over 250m viewers across Africa for free!
# We’ve also secured Pay-TV rights (except South Africa) and will broadcast all matches on our other channels on the decoder and also on the Kwesé Mobile App.
# Every single game will be broadcast, but some will be only available on the decoder and Kwesé App.
These particular rights will be shared with another broadcaster. It is the first time two broadcasters have shared the Pay-TV rights.
Thank you Vicwa!
The experience with Maasranga TV will be better than on kwese as they are in HD. However they are Director encrypted, those with freesat decoders can watch I'm not sure with Gsky (hellobox).

Munyaga if u can lock Africa unite, there is no reason why u can't lock in NASA. A 90cm offset is sufficient, signal quality @60% is stable during clear skies.

For sure Kamathig, that was in referral to goods that were recently open for I received them just for 2 days then they Malaysiad...the rest are home....

Perhaps you meant Real Madrid vs Liverpool in Kiev. The game will be all over,I think even on KTN Home
Oh! That's it then . Don't know much about europEur football. Just saw an ad.

Feedback ( my three days test) of titanium C1 pll.

Just like I promised, here is my experience on the said Cband lnb which I was impatiently waiting for.

Without further ado, let me just dive into it.

This lnb cost 60.57 USD including shipping cost to east Africa.
I tested it using two gulf star 6ft sat dishes, one pointed at 68.5
And another pointed at 76.5, ( sorry no parasiting)

To make it fair and interesting I replaced my old 777 gulf star Cband lnb with a new same 777 gulf star lnb model. The 777 gulf star lnb is what I've been using for about 6 years and cost only 6.5 USD and available here in TZ.

How the experiment was conducted.?

The receiver used was Freesat v8 Golden, and I experimented for three days in the morning, evening and midnight( around 00.00-00.30, but based on my problem with some channels being illusive especially at evening to midnight, I focused only on evenings and midnight and I have found little to no differences with regard to signal quality on each lnb on those 3 days.

The reason for picking 68.5 and 76.5 is because at 68.4 there is an elusive channel that comes during the day especialy at dawn and dance through the day when iam at work and disappears in the evening when I'm back home. (Many of you know already what channel I'm talking about).

On the other hand there was a time when I nabbed the cartoons on 76.5 like three months ago ( please don't ask why being such a grownup me self I still watch cartoons, hehehe! of course my kid loves them too).
So because of their classy cartoons I kept on assembling and disassembling the dish in hope of getting them but I've always ended up with failure.

So iset the titanium c1 pll on one dish and gulf star 777 on another dish and interchange them in order to get the findings.

Now the results.
On 68.5.

On &#%scvary channels which comes in the morning and disapears in the evening, The titanium c1 pll hit
56-59 signal quality while the gulf star 777 got 66-69
On xony channels (these by the way have no issues, they are always there 24/7. Its just for comparison purposes)
The titanium c1 pll got 36-38 while Gulf star 777 got 43-45
On &BO channel they both got within the range of 73-77( with the final testing around 23.10 hours, they both scored 77.

On 76.5
On this sat, two tps were used to test the performance of these two lnbs.
One for Dzney channels and another for A*N channels

The resuts

On Dzney channels the titanium C1 pll Managed to get them on the range of 63-66(remember these channels disappeared like 3 months ago, and never accessed them prior this experimentation).
As the titanium c1 pll got them on the said signal quality, the gulf star could not get them on both three days' experimentation.

On A*N channels, titanium c1 pll and gulf star 777 got them on
42-43 range.

My take!
Those &%#scavery channels on 68.5 aren't weak on signal but just elusive( I may be wrong on this)

Titanium c1 pll only performs better on 76.5 but trail on 68.5
While gulfstar 777 rocks on 68.5 but looses badly on 76.5.

Final view
Despite the fact that c1 pll is 6 times higher the cost of gulf star 777, it does not perform better in every channel, nope! It only rocks on channels with weak signal but not on elusive channels like #&%scavery channels.
The gulf star 777 on the other hand when its new, it kills the elusive #&$scavery channels on 68.5. Now I have them dancing 24/7 on my 6 ft gulf star dish.

Therefore, c1 pll is not worth the cost, and gulf star 777 is one killer lnb at a fraction of 15000 Tsh, equivalent to 750 Kenya shillings or 6.5 USD.
However for me, I'm not regreting any bit folking 60.57 USD. Having those Di$ney channels again makes me forget c1 plls poor performance on 68.5.

There you have it.
It has been a long wait, but thanks bro for finally updating the house regarding the Titanium. No doubt we are better informed than before. I doff my hat off to you.

Just inquiring sir; How much does the 6ft gulf star dish go for in Bongo? Never seen it in satshops in .KE, and I hope to some day own it.

This is not ASAS related and apologies are in order;
You mentioned mji kasoro bahari and I could not resist thinking of its great men Salum Abdallah and Kilaza (Cuban Marimba) and Mbaraka (Moro)... and the rivalry between Kilaza and Mbaraka that gave rise to 'Matusi ya nini' hit. {A lot of boys in my youth days incidentally were named Oscar Kambona}. Am just a bit nostalgic (and growing older), though as Moro/Volcano buff, I have made it one of my life missions to fulfill, by visiting the place at some point in the future.

Here it cost 140,000 tsh, equivalent to 7000 Ksh.
Ahh! You are certainly beyond 40, if not, then its a surprise! Very unfortunate those great men went down with their talents, now its bongoflava all over and im really not into them.
Mji kasoro bahari indeed. Those were the ol good days, a very vibrant Morogoro, but politics in all its ways killed the progress of this place as they destroyed what ever is good for the benefit of Dar es Salaam. At least now its closing in for top 4.
You are welcome brother, any time any day.

A thousand apology to the house.

In some local shops its about Tsh. 100,000 dependng on region.

In some local shops its about Tsh. 100,000 dependng on region.
Could you please mention those shops. Some shops are selling substandard gulf star dishes. So I would be careful with 100,000/= as even one that I bought 5 years ago I bought it 120,000/=.

It seem all favorite TPs quality strength on Apstar 7 are back as they were few years back, where by one could nab all with 6ft pf dish.

Not yet to those levels of yore but there's improvement. I used to parasite all of them on 6ft but its impossible.

What is the signal level of 3880 in your end? Mine today has decreased to 60 and unwatchable, it could be due to some rain.

a tale goes that the manufacturer originally intended to print 20 degrees K on the package. But an error happened and the degrees symbol became a zero and it became 200K. Anyway the 200k made it stand out in the market and thats how they maintained it.

adapted from sat guys US.

PAUXIS C-BAND ONE CABLE SOLUTION LNBF Model PX-2000 200K

Also, most noise temperature specifications are marketing lies. and Pauxis manufacturer could be trying to prove that to people by giving a top performing LNB a ridiculous noise figure thus telling you "hey, noise figures are non sense. see this 200k lnb beat a 17k lnb ten fold ! " Psychological games my friend.

To prove further that noise figures printed on most lnbs are sellers own hallucinations and void of technical logic, here is an lnb produced by one original equipment manufacturer (OEM) then distributed to two different brands (Eurostar, which brands it "Eurostar ES21 Gold Plus" and Stargold which brands it " Stargold SG500K" )

Remember its the same exact lnb only that different distributors are branding it differently.

The funny thing, Stargold rates it 500K while Eurostar rates it the the usual 17k.. So what does noise figures stand for in this case? Just mind games. Stargold probably knows that because laymen percive the pauxis PX2000 200k as a good performer, they'd think a 500k lnb is even a better performer and buy it in droves!
