I'm exploring other ways including android boxes
Has anyone used them are Thier forums for such!
In Msa I come across a shop selling the boxes from 5k to 12k, in 1gb,2gb and 3gb.
The dilemma is what are spec that stand out in the boxes. In STB one would look at autorolls, software support sites and such but for android boxes!
Can anyone give guidance
Look for android OS version; Preferably 5.1 and above. The higher the better
Maximum picture resolution it can handle; Preferably 1080p the higher the better. It could even support 4K. That will be expensive but unnecessary because finding 4K content is hard and our networks are slow or too expensive to stream 4K reasonably
HDMI connectivity is a must have feature
RAM; the higher the better because it will be able to handle more tasks/Apps at ago
Storage; Incase you want to download content and keep for offline use. Music movies etc the larger the storage the better. Should be able to support external storage. At least 500GB hard drive
Processor; The later the better. Preferably Octacore etc Speed must be 2GHZ and higher to avoid freezing
Connectivity; Should come with wireless, ethernet, Bluetooth Connectivity. The first two are very necessary
Does it support wireless keyboard? A Yes is preferred
Does it Support Games? Some can even support external game controller some don't. Your choice here will depend on whether the teenager in you died or not
What file extensions can it handle; .mp4 , .vob, .mkv .avi etc the wider the range the better
Manufacturer/Brand Reputation; These things crash alot. Be careful
Wife; Whether your wifi approves of it or you will die of nagging
