I guess we have continued to breed a class of "tupotupo" leaders. How can you give such statement which sound as an official statement?
Last week, China played with the interest rates of its currency as the result, all the markets in the world became flat footed!
China is investing heavily in Tanzania and we are depending on them in every aspect.
China and Japan have an ongoing historical drama dating 1000 years ago and just about 2 months ago, there was a diplomatic hussling on an island each country flexing the muscles.
But, a high ranking official of Tanzania Government just declared that Chinese tillers are inferior to Kubota tillers from Japan and urge everyone to by Japanese machine.
Put aside Mchungaji's curiosity of who is the supplier of Kubota tillers, but my focus on lack of diplomacy from Minister Kombani.
If I were Chinese official at Chinese embassy in Tanzania, I will demand an explanation from Tanzanian government.

DISTRICT officials and farmers have to purchase quality power tillers and avoid sub-standard ones with the excuse of cheap prices, the government has announced.
It was discovered that many districts had procured sub-standard power tillers from China and India, most of them are said to be grounded due to frequent breakdown.
The Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office responsible for Local Governments and Regional Administration, Ms Celina Kombani, said the districts should go for quality not quantity.
"Councils should buy Kubota Power tillers because they are better. They must understand that cheap is expensive," Ms Kombani said over the phone from Ulanga, Morogoro during interview with the 'Daily News on Saturday.'
According to her, the government is aware of complaints from various stakeholders about the influx of sub-standard tillers, but the first people to address the problem are the buyers (farmers and district leaders).
Chinese power tillers are sold at between 4m/- and 6m/- while Kubota goes for between 9m/- and 11m/-. The minister said the government would establish mechanization centres across the country to train farmers on how to use and service the power tillers.
