MMEA WA AJABU – COMFREY

Comfrey ni mmea uishio miaka mingi. Una umuhimu kama mboga zenye afya kwa familia, pia malisho bora kwa wanyama wengi. Majani ya mmea huu huweza kutengenezwa mbolea kwa ajili ya bustani. Pia mmea huu hutumika kwa tiba mbalimbali kwa binadamu.

Comfrey ni mmea uliopatikana katika mapori ya milima ya Kaukasus-Urusi. Pengine ndio maana ukapewa jina la kitaalam, Russian Comfrey. Mmea huu ulipelekwa uingereza-ulaya katika karne zilizopita na kutoka Uingereza ulisambazwa Canada, Amerika, Australia, New Zealand na Afrika.

Waingereza ndio walioleta hapa Afrika ya Mashariki. Mmea huu unaweza kuoteshwa sehemu yoyote ile ili mradi kuwepo na msimu wa mvua katika kipindi cha mwaka mzima. Kwa kuwa teknolojia imekua, mmea huu unaweza pia kustawishwa kwenye mabanda maalum maarufu kama greenhouse. Hii ndiyo sababu Comfrey inaweza kupandwa katika kivuli cha upenu wa nyumba au miti.

Comfrey ni mmea ujengao Protini upesi zaidi kuliko mimea mingine iliyopo. Zaidi ya protin una viini muhimu vya vitamin na hasa kiasi cha juu zaidi cha vitamin B12 ambayo ni muhimu kwa ujenzi wa seli mwilini.

Kwa maana hii mmea huu unafaa sana kutumiwa na wenye matatizo ya Sickle Cell, Sickle Cell hushambulia chembechembe za damu. Pia kwa kiasi ni ugonjwa wa kurithi. Sehemu zenye ugonjwa wa Malaria kwa wingi ndio huathirika zaidi. Unatumia majani, na pia unaweza kuchanganya na mchicha, Chinese, Swiss Chard au mboga za maboga. Mchanganyiko huu ni muhimu sana katika kupambana na matatizo ya Sickle Cell. Unga wa majani uliokaushwa kwa kaushio la jua (Solar driers) ni muhimu kwa kuongeza protini ndani ya vyakula mbalimbali kama supu, mchuzi wa mboga (ugali), uji n.k

Pia majani mabichi au yaliyoanikwa unaweza kutumia kwa chai kwa kuongeza asali/ sukari, utaboresha afya yako kwa kinywaji hiki.

Magonjwa mengine yanayoponywa kwa kutumia Comfrey ni jeraha, michubuko na uvimbe wa miguu na mikono. Majani na mizizi ndivyo vinavyotumika kutengeneza dawa.
