Tujikumbushe Bungeni Dodoma!

Tujikumbushe Bungeni Dodoma!

I noticed, mtu anaongea kiingereza kilicho a direct translation from kiswahili. Kwa mfano, 'I am giving you the last chance to ask for votes before you leave' = ninakupa nafasi ya mwisho ya kuomba kura kabla hujaondoka!
I would have expected something in the line of: 'You now have the opportunity to give your closing remarks.'

Alafu in a serious note, huu ni muda mfupi sana wa kutafuta mtu atakayetuwakilisha. Kwanza, mtu apewe more than 3 minutes kujieleza. Pili, kuwe na maswali tayari yanayomdadisi mtu kwa undani zaidi. Tatu, Waziri wa Afrika Masharaki au muwakilishi wake apewe nafasi ya kuuliza angalau swali mmoja. All in all, nilichoona ni kuwa hii process ni below par kabisa. we have to raise the bar.

Hivi bado wj malecela ni youngman? And god bless him for what? Hawa watu wamekula sana pesa yetu tusiwaonee huruma hata. Kidogo
Umejitahidi sana ndugu yangu. Mungu akubariki. It is not easy to speak to the public.God bless you youngman

alivyojieleza kama vile hajakaa marekani lol

He was speaking after Tanzania National Assembly, he was very clear and stick to the point; the time was major factor but he did a very good job; I am sure he did not get the vote because majority of MP don`t understand English in other words they were lost in translation; even the speaker was shaking when using English; we missed the opportunity to send somebody who is aggressive and ready to fight for our national intrests. Twimane can you post a clip of yours I am eager to hear to tune in English!!!!!

we hujui kitu bana rudi tu ulikokuwa endelea na mambo yako ya ubaharia..unashindwa ku connect unachoongea na kilichopo kwenye ubongo.....yaani unakosa link ...

Mkuu you did your best!
My take:
This language issue will retard our development- we need to decide if we want to promote English lets go for it and make sure we do it well if not let's use Kiswahili fully without any guilty conscious(Why are we shying away?). i witnessed all formulating sentences not talking- that is from the speaker, candidate and even the MPs. Mkuu you didn't answer the last question - what happened??

Yes he expressed himself loud and clear. I think he was very good. I hear money was involved maybe that is why he was not elected. I am surprised at those who are posting that he did not do well. He was good.

- If I remember rightly the last question was on the language barrier for EAC, which I answered that it is never an issue cause in all International bodies members are allowed to use their languages why not EAC, unless there is something I am missing here!

William.

Here i meant you did try by just saying language can.t be a barrier, but i thought the question was related to the number of users of Swahili vs English if we to truly serve the people of EA - my angle would have been that truly if we want to serve the majority we need to use the language of the majority and fortunately of late even the new comers like Rwanda they are working very hard on Kiswahili...
