As I reflect on the successful completion of the 5th Edition of the Tanzania School of Community Networks (TSCN 2026) in Tarime, I am filled with gratitude and pride. I had the privilege of serving as one of the organizers and spent five wonderful days working alongside dedicated colleagues and stakeholders to make this event a success.
My sincere appreciation goes to Tarime Community Network Cooperative Society Ltd for their excellent preparation, warm welcome, and outstanding hospitality. From the moment we arrived until our departure, the team and their Chairperson made us feel at home. The food was exceptional, and the special Uji prepared with milk and millet (mtama) will remain one of the memorable highlights of the event.
I would also like to thank Kondoa Community Network Cooperative Society Ltd, Nyasa Community Network Cooperative Society Ltd, Kasulu Community Network Cooperative Society Ltd, Mpimbwe Community Network Cooperative Society Ltd, and all participants who travelled from Dar es Salaam and other locations. Your participation, experiences, and contributions made the discussions richer and strengthened our shared vision for community-centred connectivity in Tanzania.
A special appreciation goes to all the speakers for sharing valuable knowledge and practical insights. I particularly thank Viviane Oywer for her impactful session on Financial Literacy and the importance of Financial Inclusion. Her presentation provided important lessons on building stronger and more sustainable communities.
Special thanks to the Kondoa team for bringing great energy, enthusiasm, and positive vibes throughout the event. Your spirit added excitement and strengthened the bond among participants.
I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Jabhera Matogoro, Lecturer at the University of Dodoma and CEO of Tanzania Community Networks Polytechnic College, for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to be part of the organizing team. The experience allowed me to learn, grow, and contribute to an initiative that is making a real difference in communities across Tanzania.
I am equally excited to have witnessed and participated in the official introduction of Tanzania Community Networks Company Ltd, an important step that will support the growth and sustainability of community networks in the country.
Most importantly, this journey gave us an opportunity to learn from the people of Tarime and from one another. The friendships, partnerships, and lessons gained during these five days will stay with us long after the event has ended.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of TSCN 2026. Together, we continue building a more connected, inclusive, and digitally empowered Tanzania.
