The Indian community in Uganda has pledged to sponsor 160 heart surgeries for infants as part of the Plascon India Day Celebrations 2026.
The initiative will support children requiring life-saving cardiac procedures, helping families who may otherwise struggle to afford specialised treatment.
The contribution underscores the Indian community’s continued support for Uganda’s healthcare sector and its efforts to expand access to specialised medical services, particularly for children with critical heart conditions.
The sponsorship is expected to give the beneficiaries an opportunity to receive timely treatment and improve their chances of survival and a healthier life.
