The New Libya...

The New Libya...

Gaddafi aliwapigisha foleni benki kujichukulia fedha zao, leo wanaandamana kudai fedha ambazo waliahidiwa lakini imekuwa dana dana tu.

Nimeiopoa hapa Libye

Teh teh teh!

"We are now between two bitter options," Abdel Jalil told a gathering in the eastern city of Benghazi late on Tuesday.
"We deal with these violations (clashes between militias) strictly and put the Libyans in a military confrontation which we don't accept, or we split and there will be a civil war."
"If there's no security, there will be no law, no development and no elections," he said. "People are taking the law into their own hands."

Hundreds of Libyan soldiers protested on Thursday in the eastern city of Benghazi, demanding payment of overdue wages and complaining militia groups had taken over their bases and were not interested in joining a new national army.

The soldiers, part of a force marginalised by ousted leader Muammar Gaddafi, gathered outside a branch of the central bank in Benghazi in their military uniforms and clutching their arms.

They said the new government should focus on building a new army rather than giving cash compensation to former rebels who have formed powerful regional militia since ousting Gaddafi.

"The revolutionaries don't want to join an organised military, they want to keep their current situation," said Al Mabrouk Abdullah al-Oraibi, who worked in the military's accounting department but now works in the military police.

"Every time I go the military camp to ask about my salary, they say I'll it get soon, and this has gone on for four months," Sahati said.

..... all of the petroleum platforms are occupied by NATO and that warships occupy Libya's ports. Photographs show Italian encampments in the desert with an announcement that the French are to follow.

Another news outlet reports that Qataris and Emiratees are the engineers now at the oil plants, turning away desperate Libyan workers. While long lines exist for Libyan drivers to get their gas, foreign troops ensure the black gold's export.

Libyans lack enough food and the basics, the country has been turned upside down, and contaminated with uranium while the true number of dead and unaccounted for remains high and unknown. Thousands of young Libyans, supporters of the Jahamiriya, languish under torture and assassination in a Misrata prison where a humanitarian disaster is about to unfold because Misrata rebels want to kill them all and have already attacked the prison once to do so. An urgent appeal to contact the International Red Cross was issued yesterday to help save the lives of the prisoners.

Libya's central bank has started withdrawing old currency in an apparent attempt to restore liquidity into the country's banking system after it found that the vast majority of funds are being kept outside banks.

"One of the biggest implications in the economy is the increase of the percentage of money in the market outside the banks which is in excess of 15 billion dinars ($12 billion) or 96 per cent of available money," Saddeq Omar Elkaber, governor of the central bank told reporters on Friday.

"The bank has started printing a new Libyan currency to replace exist notes," he added.
ElKaber said that the central bank has set a timeline for withdrawing the old currency starting with the fifty dinar note, the highest value banknote.
