If you want to learn a new government delivery model, I insist, go to Tanzania.
Despite recent criticism, seemingly calculated at stopping Tanzanian President John Magufuli from his own innovation, the Magufulification, a new leadership model has no end in sight.
Having trended for three years now as a reform minded African President, Magufuli has continued to defy all odds and channellenges the business as usual models to instil his own.
You will be wandering and wondering about what is happening in Tanzania as critics take to the social media and some western media colludes to undermine what he is doing, but I will tell you this; Tanzania is on the right move.
He's just revamped the national airliner, Africa's biggest standard gauge railway is well on course, just completed the country's first flyover and is doing the second, he offers free schooling and has successfully controlled grand corruption, Magufuli is yet to give you more surprises.
He surprised India, Vietnam, Nigeria and other cashew nut countries the way he ended low price woes; send in Agriculture Bank to buy at a good price, give the army mandate to transport and store the cashews until price stabilizes and sell abroad at a profit.Farmers are jubilating, cashew middle men are complaining.
This evening, Tuesday the 20th of November, 2018, the cost-cutting President Magufuli is not back, he is topping African leadership innovation once again.
He has just directed this year's independence celebrations to be marked through regional social events. He did the same two years ago and critics argued he had no money.Instead, he dished out the money to expand a section of Dar es Salaam road fro two to four lane which is now completed.
In April, 2017 he did the same on the Union Celebrations and channelled the money to complete a pedestrian flyover in Mwanza City which is also already in use.
In the current directive, the funds earmarked for this years national independence event in Dodoma will now be channeled to the construction of a state of the art Dodoma Independence Memorial Hospital.
"Regional Governors are directed to design alternative modalities to mark tge event through non costly social events," said a statement from the Prime Minister.
