The folk song " Tanzania Nakupenda Kwa Moyo Wote" was probably the country's unofficial national anthem by its popularity. It was widely embraced then by many mainstream politicians and was often sung at rallies, demonstrations and in schools. From my young days and a humble beginning in singing patriotic songs like this, my love for Tanzania grew day by day even today. I have done a little research and my conclusion tells me that people are always fascinated by numbers, photos and songs, only if these things make sense.
My love for Tanzania is often times betrayed by ignorance or intended actions of my own people who abuse the system or the very basic rights of my existence. A good example is when I was looking for a passport, I am talking about a simple Tanzanian passport that I had to go through insults, provoking, cajoling, cursing, coercion, cheating and sometimes belittling remarks to get one and all these are compounding to the feelings that I was striped naked by my own government. And this really beats my understanding because all these detrimental non compliance situations and remarks are created by public officials that we have entrusted great responsibilities on their shoulders. Na hawa hawa ndio wanaotuburuza na serikali isiyo na strategy yoyote.
Is there any love left for my country ikiwa watu uliowachagua wanakuvua nguo hadharani kwa vitendo vyao? how do we teach our kids kuhusu nchi yenye siasa safi na uongozi bora ambao hatujauona?
Is there a single individual out there who can still proudly sing "Tanzania nakupenda kwa moyo wote?
Ohh that songo!?....the song was very popular in the past. I don't know if they teach it at school these days.If not, do parents have that sense of patriotism to teach their kids? I don't thinks so...... too many problems to think about!
the song made me happy and makes me think of TANZANIA FIRST....!

Sasa naona mayai ya uzalendo yamo ndani ya mashine ya kuatamia manake tukisubiri kuku waatamie itachukua muda.
LOL!
Oh, yes! I can still proudly sing that song Tanzania nakupenda kwa moyo wote, coz hako ka-wimbo kametulia mno!
In fact, ingefaa "Tanzania nakupenda kwa moyo wote" uwe ndio national anthem, maana "Mungu Ibariki Tanzania" tume-copy toka South Africa (Nkosi Sikelel'i" Afrika), you know...
I thought it was the other way, that they copied ours!
The song is beautiful, and it is still being taught in some schools (you know all about our diverse curriculum)
I still remember when JK shed a tear in national tv when he was singing the song. Was he even partially sincere?? I keep wondering about that years and years later.
To us:
Are we sincere with our love to the land of Tanzania?
How much do we love love the country?
Are we ready to do something about our love?
Or is our love shown wy only our words?
Is the love, unconditional or with some conditions?
Why should we love the land? cant we just just live and let die?

Richard,
