Nothing surprising here. It was suggested two-three years ago by Yoweri Museveni that the EA confederation move can go on without the hesitant Tanzania.

TZ hatuko hesitant ila tunaona mbali na hatutaki kuburuzwa kama kinda kwani Tanzania ni kw ajili ya waTZ na si Wakenya.
Wanafikiri TZ itapanic na kupiga magoti lakini nasema Mwenye PUPA Mpishe na Mbio za sakafuni huishia ukingoni. Ipo siku tutaonekana tunaona mbali.

JK usiogope wala usipanic tuko nyuma yako na hiki ni kipimo cha kuonyesha uzalendo kwa nchi yetu na support kwa viongozi wetu. I have several threads in the International Forum of JF in which I have cautioned Tanzania to be very watchfull of her current partners in EAC. Events are proving me 90% right. The remaining 10% will be completed when TZ is completely isolated. Tanzania you have refused to accede to the single most important item(in the opinion of your partners) in the EAC protocol - LAND. I am not a prophet of doom but mark my words!

...the problem we face as a country is that....does the current TZ leadership has the guts to re-position the country from the current scenario???...this is what i see as trouble.......because we already hear TZ calling for resolution...as a gesture of surrender (to me).....As for me....the best way forward...if they keep ignoring TZ in these important technical EAC meetings is to pull out from the EAC all together......and let our leaders concentrate (seriously) in building the country(TZ).....by working hard....with vision,focus,patriotism....together with fighting corruption....nepotism...and all illegal practices......Its only by doing this we (as a country)will get respect from countries like Rwanda......

I think, our leaders have got guts. What needed at the moment is to give a strike across the bow and let it loose at its own momentum. Shall we wait for another snubs from little men?

na hizi nchi huja hapa kununua. Nilifika Mufindi miaka ya nyuma na kukuta hawa majirani wakinunu kwa

wingi mbao na chai yetu. Nilirudi mwaka mwingine nikakuta biashara hii imeongezeka.

Nilipokuwa Arusha niligundua kuna bishara kubwa pale Namanga ya mboga mboga kutoka nchini kuelekea

kule ngambo ya mpaka.

asilimia kubwa ya viwanda Ulaya na Marekani viwanda vinafungwa na kuamia China au kununua hizo

bidhaa china, sababu kuu ikiwa ni urahisi na unafuu wa bidhaa hizo. Kwa ufupi ukizalisha bidhaa

yenye ubora kwa bei nafuu, haijalishi upo wapi wanunuzi watakuja, nchi zote za kusini mwa bara la

Africa zinamahitaji makubwa ya nishati, na haya yanazidi uwezo wa vyanzo vyao na pili hawana njia

mbadala.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has signed a pact with Uganda and Rwanda to remove travel barriers among the three countries in efforts to make it easier for entrepreneurs to operate across borders.

Speaking Thursday at Mombasa International ASK Show, he said that citizens of the three countries will soon be able use their identity cards, voters' cards (Uganda) and students' identity cards to travel to any of the three nations.

"Time has come for us to remove colonial boundary barriers that have kept us apart and also isolated the people from interacting and doing business freely," he said.

President Kenyatta urged entrepreneurs to take advantage of the agreement to exploit a larger market base for their agricultural and industrial products.

"This is what we have agreed as leaders so that our people can interact by visiting each other's country to do business and develop domestic tourism," he said.

The President's remarks put to question the fate of the other two East African Community (EAC) partner states, Burundi and Tanzani, who have remained absent during presidential and technical meetings regarding the plan.

Without mentioning the two countries, Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni, who accompanied Mr Kenyatta, said he was excited the "integration dream" he had awaited for 50 year would become a reality in his leadership.

The EAC chairman added that President Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto and other Kenyan leaders had injected fresh blood to the previous anaemic situation.

"I am very excited on the issue of integration, which previously was suffering from political anemia. But with President Uhuru, his DP and others, it has got fresh blood supply for its survival," he said

The countries also agreed to invest in a Sh1.6 trillion high speed railway.

Following the meeting in Mombasa, the railway has now been extended to South Sudan and Burundi.

To eradicate poverty and create employment, President Kenyatta said Kenya would have to work closely with its neighbours, adding that working in isolation would only disadvantage the country.
