Dar es Salaam. Simba SC are in trouble once again after handing in incomplete Mrisho Ngassas registration documents, it has been revealed.
A credible source within the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) confided to The Citizen yesterday that Ngassa will definitely don the green and yellow jersey.
Both Dar es Salaam giants Simba and Yanga have submitted Ngassas name to the TFF with each claiming to have rights to use him in the 2013/14 Vodacom Premier League.
However, yesterdays revelation puts Simba in a fix even before the TFF Legal, Ethics and Players Status Committee meets on August 13 and 14 to deliberate on the objections and make a decision.
The soft-spoken TFF official said Simba where Ngassa was playing on a season long loan from Azam FC, submitted a contract only while their city rivals returned all documents as required by the federation.
Yanga have submitted a contract plus Ngassas information form signed by the player while Simba have a contract only, which makes this case easy to decide.
After all, Ngassa was playing for Simba on loan and our rules and regulations prohibit a club to enter into a contract with a player who is already tied to another club, he said.
He said Ngassas contract with Azam, who were the owners of the striker, expired since May, thus he was free to sign for another club.
Should the committee rule in favour of Yanga, it will be another victory for the latter who have been tormenting Simba when it comes to signing players in recent years.
In recent battles for players between the two sides, Simba voiced their objections to the signing of Athuman Idd Chuji, Kelvin Yondani and Mbuyu Twite.
