Serena advert and greedyness of Kenyans

I saw the advert of serena Hotels for CNN Journalists award sponsorship on the CCN and i'm suprized to see Kilimanjaro, Serengeti and Nungwi Forests were mentioned without their respective countries names i.e. where they are found but Animal Migration was mentioned with Kenya as if that seasonal migration happens only in Kenya! However Of the four movements/circuits in one complete circle in a year, three happens in Serengeti within Tanzania and for the whole year the animals spend only 3 months in Masai Mara! Suprizes dont end there since migration has to have a point of start and end but their Migration has only Kenya though the company is positioning itself as East african for that reason, i urgue Tanzanians not to let one visa stupidity happen cause these dudes are refusing to acknowledge Mt Kilimanjaro, Serengeti are in Tanzania and migration happens between two countries! I won't be suprized to hear there more extreme greedyness if we allow this one visa thing for Tourists! Though Serena Hotels have equal number of Hotels in Tanzania compared to Kenya, Tanzania is misrepresented on that advert! though EAC pushed for every advert to be under EA banner of which tanzania complied with "Tanzania the land of Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar and the Serengeti", i did not see any EA banner with "Magical Kenya advert" and that shows the continuing greedy with delibaretly intentions we are used to from this Northern neighbours! Pls i urgue Tanzanians to note that and not to feel ashamed of avoiding the Serena Hotels which by the way are owned by the Aga Khan + other foreign owners as majorities but embrace Kenyan arrogance and avoid a wider East African representation though they make a lot of money from Tanzania!

Mi nadhani sasa imefika wakati kama wametuzidi kete serikali icheze mchezo huu: iwaache waKenya waendelee kutangaza Kili, Serengeti etc viko kwao lakini ihakikishe pia inaongeza umakini katika mipaka haswa Namanga na sehemu zingine ambapo mbuga za wanyama za nchi hizi mbili zinakutana ili watalii waelewe ukweli.

Its quite easy to clear the issue on Kilimanjaro, everyone and their mama's know that its in kenya, now you should lay strategies on how to demystify this wrong perception (myth), make enough adverts, hire spin doctors if need be, its not rocket science, its something which can be done if your government wills, don't you see that there is someone somewhere getting kickbacks from all this? Why complain and the world is now a village, thanks to the internets. Stop being played, we are not the enemy, your government is, how many Kenyans do you think benefit from the Kilimanjaro, how many Kenyans have seen the adverts, how many Kenyans care whether serengeti is located in Kenya or Tanzania, not many, the only hing we care about is having enough for our children and families. Am pretty sure that there is a pact by some senior officials in both countries who benefit from all this, stop being naive and ask yourself some hard questions, Kenya is not the devil, it has never been, OUR politicians are.

i watch too one documentary in discovery channel,it was about serengeti na ilionyesha kama wale watalii wako kenya,kumbe waliingilia kenya then wakaja mpaka serengeti upande wa T.Z.lakini katika ile documentery sikuona sehemu yoyote iliyoonyesha jina la Tanzania likitajwa ingawa mwisho ilionyesha hao watalii waliondokea arusha kwenye uwanja wa K.I.A.sijui serikali yetu inafanya nini kuhusu swala hili,au ndio washazidiwa na ulevi wa corruption.

Serena makao makuu yake yapo Nairobi, waaajiriwa wengi ni wakenya wanaotengenbeza hizo advert ni wakenya wanatengeneza wanachokijua, ikumbukwe hata ukiomba taarifa kwa wahusika TTB, na wizara ya utalii hawatoi on time utegemee nini?? Hapo nilipo weka red nataka kuku rekebisha kidogo.

Serena is a chain of hotel's in both Kenya and Tanzania so what do you want them to say? Advertise only for there Kenyan lodge's and not the one's in Tanzania? And trust me it's very hard to avoid the Serena hotel's in the bush as there are very few permanent Lodge's in a place like Serengeti. On top of it they do have a good service and its considered luxury Lodge's. So just live with it... or you can start your own...

And you are telling us all this so that ?.....We can cry with you?.shouldn't you be venting you concerns to the appropriate stakeholders ie CNN and Serena.
I am sure if you could care to explain to them the whole Serengeti/Maasai Mara and Kilimanjaro issue like you have done in this forum.(Of Course without the Innuendos and the semantics) ,they would certainly be more enlightened about your country and maybe in the future such an incident would never recur and for the first time you would certainly have assisted your country a big deal.
So stop wasting time with your vitrials and get working to change the perception about the subject matter.

When are we Tanzanians going to stop complaining and do something to address the perceived unfair treatment from our neighbours.

Kwani tumezuiliwa kutangaza hiyo Kilimanjaro na Serengeti sisi wenyewe mpaka wakenya watutangazie kwenye matangazo yao? Hivi unataka wakenya waseme kwenye matangazo yao kuwa "migration" ya wanyama ipi Serengeti ili iweje?

Wao lengo lao ni kuvutia watalii waende Kenya na siyo Tanzania. Kama na sisi tunataka watalii waje Serengeti kuangalia animal migration basi tuitangaze "animal migration" bila kuitaja mbuga yao ya Maasai Mara ya Kenya.

Lazima tujue kuwa EAC siyo suluhu ya matatizo yetu ambayo yametokana na sisi wenyewe. Kila mwanachama anaingia EAC na malengo yake ya kiuchumi na kijamii kama sisi hatuna malengo yoyote basi tutakuwa wasindikizaji tu milele.

Tanzania itajengwa na sisi watanzania wenyewe na si vinginevyo.
