Uganda’s security forces are set to converge in Gulu City from August 24 to September 5, 2026, for the annual inter-forces sports and shooting competitions.
The event will bring together personnel from the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), Uganda Police Force, Uganda Prisons Service and Uganda Wildlife Authority, who will compete across several sporting disciplines.
The competitions will include football, netball, athletics, darts and shooting, among other events.
According to the Deputy UPDF Spokesperson, the games are intended to strengthen physical fitness, teamwork and operational readiness among members of the security forces.
The competitions are also expected to provide an opportunity for personnel from the different forces to interact, build camaraderie and promote cooperation beyond their routine security duties.
The two week event will culminate in the shooting competitions, alongside the other sporting activities, as the participating forces compete for honors in their respective disciplines.
