Zidane has chosen Isco ahead of James and it seems that the attitude of the Columbian player is not being appreciated by the French coach.
Apparently, James didn’t head out at the start of the game against Sporting de Gijón to warm up with the other substitutes.
He only ended up doing so after Zidane ordered him to. This was the 1st disagreement of the afternoon.
Later, after the 41st minute injury to Gareth Bale, the manager sent out Jesé and James to warm up, with the Columbian being decidely slow to join his team-mate.
Both players continued their preparation during the interval but it was Jesé who was selected by the Madrid manager as Bale’s stand-in for the second half.
James made the decision to stop his exercises and took a seat on the bench. Zidane looked for him on the sidelines several times but couldn’t find him. When he saw him on the bench, he asked what he was doing there and requested that he keep going, gesturing with his arms: “get warmed up”. This was the 2nd insult.
