With rumours suggesting that the arrival of Manchester United star David De Gea is inevitable, Real Madrid must consider whether they are right in signing a new shot-stopper with the likes of Iker Casillas and Keylor Navas already at the club. [

COPE | Mendes (agent of De Gea) said his client wants an official decision before first week of July.

Ruiz [Cope]: "Manchester United will offer €40m + Davi De Gea for Real's Sergio Ramos".
It's already been explained several times
that the figure (invented by AS) is 75m
euros inclusive of DDG and Ramos'
potential wages.

Sergio Ramos demands Real Madrid let him join Manchester United.

United have told Real to forget about signing David De Gea unless Ramos is made part of the deal.

And the Spanish side's new boss Rafa Benitez has refused to rule out selling the defender as looks to rebuild the side after taking over from Carlo Ancelotti.

A senior club source said: "Sergio Ramos is someone we are interested in. But the truth is, there will be no deal over David De Gea unless Sergio is allowed to join us".

CLUB UNWILLING TO PAY DEFENDER €10M A YEAR (Real won't be held to ransom by Ramos)

Florentino Pérez is adamant that he won't indulge Ramos's demand for a contract worth €10 million after tax every season. The club has taken such a firm stand before in these situations. Mesut Özil and Ángel Di María ended up joining Arsenal and Manchester United respectively after very similar wrangles: both are now earning in the region of €8m a year, far more than was on offer at the Bernabéu. He has decided to LEAVE. Man United also gave him a offer yesterday. He would receive €12M in his first year.

Real Madrid only offer €7M for him and won't go higher than that.

Ramos cannot believe his fans could think him a mercenary. Neither can he accept that his commitment is being called into doubt.

Ramos knows that the only way to resolve things is for himself and Florentino to speak face to face.

"Barcelona are a team who can make life difficult for us in many different ways", said Carroll.
In the hours before game three of the Endesa League finals, Sergio Rodríguez spoke to the media and stressed how tough the clash at the Palau will be: "It'll be a long, hard game because winning here is very difficult. Barcelona are always galvanised on their court, the home fans put a lot of pressure on and the team feel at ease. They have lost very few games this year, and I'm sure they'll be out to make up for the games they were unable to win in Madrid".

"Barcelona are a top team with a lot of talent, and after the two defeats they'll be even more up for it. We'll need to be on our guard from the off and play with the toughness that we showed in the first two games. It would be fantastic if we could start the match in the same way as the other day, but we know that it'll be very difficult. We were very accurate with our shooting and were great in defence".

Maciulis: "It's a terrific opportunity"
"We have a terrific opportunity to close out the tie tonight and win the League, but I don't think it's going to be easy. Barcelona are playing on their home court and they won't offer any let-up. They're going to fight hard in front of their fans, and it'll be a tough game".

MACIULIS: "WE HAVE TO DEFEND THE WAY WE DID IN THE FIRST TWO GAMES".

"We have to keep working the way we have been. In the first two games we defended very well, particularly against their best guys, who we managed to stop; we have to carry on in that vein in defence, because if we do we have a great chance".

Carroll: "We have to be tough out on the court"
"Barcelona are a team with a lot of high-quality players and they can make life difficult for us in many different ways. They'll have the Palau behind them, where the fans really make their presence felt, and we have to be totally ready both mentally and physically, and be tough out on the court".

"Defence is always the most important thing for us. When we're tough in defence, working hard, picking up rebounds and stealing balls, we always have a great chance of winning".
