For several weeks now, Florentino Pérez has listened as several members of his inner circle advised him to bring Paul Pogba to the Bernabéu.

Even Zidane has said his bit, although more indirectly through the media. "He's fantastic. The thing I like most about him is that he has it all. Lots of clubs are interested and allegedly, so are Real Madrid. World-class players inevitably attract interest from all the big clubs", he told RTL this week.

However, even such a recommendation does not fully convince the club's president. He still has his reservations even though nobody doubts the talents of a footballer who has been on Real Madrid's radar for some time. Some of the reports into his private life do not paint a pretty picture, and his agent Raiola's eccentricities do not help either.

Real Madrid also know that he will not come cheap. Juve are watching as some of the richest clubs in Europe fight over him. The Serie A giants will auction Pogba off to the highest bidder for no less than Real Madrid paid for James (80m), although bearing in mind the other clubs interested in the Frenchman, it is more likely to be closer to 90m.

Real Madrid could soon join the likes of PSG, City and Barça in the race for the forward's signature. Everything hinges on the president giving green light to signing another galactico. Those close to him have no doubts: "President, sign him".

Real Madrid and Barça remain La Liga's top draws and beIN Sports are willing to cough up 250m to show one of the big boys' matches every week.

This figure has emerged in the run-up to the bidding war for the new TV rights packages that are to go on the market following the recently passed Royal Decree governing the centralised sale of these rights.

beIN Sports, owned by Qatari news network Al Jazeera, are set to make a major play to get a slice of the action and are specifically interested in screening 20 Barcelona and Real Madrid games apiece in a premium slot. The possibility has been mooted during discussions of having these fixtures kick off at 18:15 on Saturday, which would be a strategic time in order to attract viewers in England.

The league and the interested broadcasters have been in ongoing contact over the last few days and hopes are high that the overall pie could be worth 1.25 billion, when the most optimistic forecasts until recently had stood at 1.05bn. The auction is expected to start in two weeks' time.

Despite the change in rules, 'Los Blancos' and 'Los Azulgranas' still stand to bank more than the other clubs and the 250m quoted above would come on top of what they bring in from other networks, both domestic and international.
