Real Madrid (‎Los Blancos) | Special Thread

Zidane's Post-Match Presser:

-"It was a tough game because whenever you score two goals away from home, ordinarily it would be a game that you're in control of. Their first goal gave them a route back into the game."

-"We lacked intensity, desire and movement. At times you can have these odd games and we've got to be patient. The good thing is that we didn't lose and we're now focusing on our next game".

-"The plan was to play with three at the back in the closing stages but with the support of the central midfielders."

Defensive fragility
"We took a risk by playing with three at the back, but I don't think that we look like fragile. We got off to a very good start."

-“We know we have to improve and we must show that. We have to keep working to try and make sure it doesn’t happen again."

Two central-midfielders from the start
“I was looking to win the game. We played 4-4-2. We did it in pre-season and it’s a system we’re familiar with. It worked well for us in the early stages of the first half but then things got a bit more difficult”.

Absence of fans
“That certainly had an influence but it’s no excuse. It was a bit of a strange game but we can’t change that now. We knew before the game that there wouldn’t be any fans in the ground and we had to show high concentration levels. We did that early on but not for the whole game and we had some tough periods”.

Vazquez After The Match:

-"The result is a disappointing one because we let two points slip and we must learn from this, but these things happen."

-"We weren't able to hold on to our lead. It was a bit of a strange game and with it being so fresh it's tough to analyse it, but we'll have to look at the mistakes and learn from them".

Varane After The Match:

-"We failed to perform better, both in defence and attack. We could have played better and played more of our game."

-"We're going to work hard, we'll put the effort in all together and at the same time be more clinical. It wasn't a good performance and we must use it to learn for the future."

-"It's a warning to us not to let our concentration and intensity levels drop. We need to improve in these areas because any team can create problems".

Intensity
"We know what our strengths and weaknesses are and there’s no need to panic but we must be aware that we’ve got things to work on."

-"Our best games come when we defend and attack together as a team. Playing with four forwards there’s a different balance. We knew we’d have more space in behind and that we’d have to defend together but we didn’t do that very well".

MARCA | "A match: Without Public, Intensity, Motivation, Defensive Tension.. But without losing for 27 consecutive matches."
