Efforts by the Member of Parliament for Kigoma Urban Constituent and the Leader of ACT- Wazalendo to please Acacia Mining went in vain at the Parliament in Dodoma today.

Zitto, among other opposition members, has launched several attempts several attempts to convince and possibly attract public opinion by asserting that the Government of Tanzania has been taken to a London Court by Acacia Mining Plc.

Asking a question today during Parliamentary session in Dodoma, Zitto has said Tanzania has facing several International Arbitration cases including one with Acacia Mining Plc (citing it as LCIA Arbitration UN 173686 No. 87) in London.

Responding to such claims, the Minister for Constitution and Legal Affairs, Prof. Palamagamba Kabudi said currently there is no case in London Arbitration Courts between government of Tanzania and as alleged by MP Kabwe.

"Civil case No. LCIA Arbitration UN 173686 referred to and UN 1736867 was filed on 3 July, 2018 by two independent mining companies, Pangea Minerals Limited and Bulyanhulu Gold Mining Limited, where the Government has already filed its arguements," said Prof Kabudi at the dismay of MP Zitto who tried for details but in vain.

Prof. Kabudi has insisted no more details on the cases will be given for now as rules of arbitration insists on confidentiality between the parties.

For reasons not clear to many Tanzanians, MP Kabwe who was a known anti giant mining firms continued exploitation of our mineral wealth haa eversince turned into advocacy of the same companies when the government initiated measures to rescind the status guo.

What transpired at the session was heard by every one loud and clear! May be the pole pole and the likes didn't hear well. Kabundi was scared stiff to answer the q's."mtegoo, mtegoo!' Another professorial rubbish.
