Harry: Gunners in pole position

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp thinks Arsenal now have an "unbelievable" chance of pipping Manchester United to the Premier League title.
Three weeks ago Arsenal were in the running for an incredible four trophies, but they saw their season come crashing down to earth with a poor run of form which saw them lose in the Carling Cup final and suffer elimination from the FA Cup and the Champions League.

Morale may have taken a hit but Arsene Wenger's side still have a good chance of ending their six-year trophy drought if they can overcome the three-point gap which separates them and league leaders United.
The Gunners have the advantage of a match in hand - against Tottenham at White Hart Lane - and have arguably an easier run-in than the Red Devils.
United and Chelsea will face each other in the Champions League quarter-finals and despite their elimination from the Europa League, Manchester City still have to fight on two fronts given that they are in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
That, Redknapp, believes gives Spurs' north London rivals their best chance of winning the Premier League title since they last lifted the trophy in 2004.
"Arsenal have got an unbelievable chance of winning the championship now," Redknapp said.
"They are the only team with a clear run at it so you'd have to think they've got the best chance they're ever going to have.
"They are not playing Saturday, midweek, Saturday, midweek, like some of the other teams."
Some suggest that Arsenal's capitulation against Birmingham in the Carling Cup final in particular shows that Wenger's young side do not have the bottle to last the distance.
United have the added incentive of knowing victory in the title race would give them the biggest haul of league championships in English football history, but Redknapp fears injuries to key players and fixture congestion could count against them.
"If Man Utd can go on and win the league now, with these games coming up, that would be an amazing feat," he added.
"They have injuries - I've read today that Rio Ferdinand could be out for the season.
"Arsene must be sitting there and saying: 'This is fantastic'."
Redknapp was beaming with excitement earlier today after he learned that his side had been drawn with Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Tottenham made it through to the last eight after beating AC Milan, but the tie was overshadowed by Gennaro Gattuso's headbutt on Joe Jordan after the first leg at the San Siro.
Gattuso earned a four-match ban for the headbutt but Spurs were shocked to hear yesterday that Jordan would be banned from the first leg of the quarter-final tie at the Bernabeu on April 5 after UEFA charged him with improper conduct.
The home of the best LIVE soccer and rugby awaits at FoxSoccer.tv -- don't miss a second of the action.

Jordan and Gattuso also squared up to each other during the match but the Tottenham first team coach did not react physically to Gattuso's headbutt, earning him much praise.
Redknapp slammed UEFA for the ban, which means Jordan will have to watch the first leg from the stands at the Bernabeu.
"It's crazy. I don't know what Joe's supposed to have done, except get nutted," Redknapp said.
"When he started giving him abuse, Joe might have said 'f*** off'. Now if that is worth a one-game ban, well...
"What is he supposed to say? 'Go away old chap, stop nutting me'?."
Gattuso initially claimed Jordan had racially insulted him before later retracting the claim.
Jordan denies he did anything wrong but it is understood that Tottenham are unlikely to appeal the ban.
Redknapp lost all five of his clashes with Madrid boss Jose Mourinho during the Portuguese's time in England but the former Portsmouth manager is looking forward to seeing the charismatic character again.
"It will be good to see him. He was amazing for English football when he came," Redknapp said.
"He was a fantastic coach and a great manager, a real personality that lit the Premier League up when he was here.
"He's a great personality, has a great knowledge of the game and is an amazing manager - one of the all time great managers. Look what he achieved with Inter and Porto, to win the Champions League twice.
"I fancied Inter Milan to win it last year just because he was there."
Tottenham take on West Ham at White Hart Lane knowing they will draw level with fourth-placed Chelsea with a win.

Manchester United rookie Javier Hernandez has labelled strike partner Wayne Rooney as a "monster" to play alongside.
The Mexican has flourished in his debut season for the Red Devils which has seen him net 16 times and strike up an impressive partnership with the England forward.

That goal ratio has also led to the 23-year-old being selected to start games ahead of Dimitar Berbatov despite the Bulgarian being the Premier League's current top scorer with 19.
"Playing with Wayne is a dream. He's a monster to be alongside and I never believed I would get so many games and goals during my first season at United," he told The Sun.
With his never-say-die work-rate, 'Chicharito' has even been likened to former United striker Carlos Tevez - however Hernandez wants to make his own name in the top-flight and for Sir Alex Ferguson's men.
"'The Little Tevez'? I'm really proud that people are comparing me to him but I am Chicharito and am living my dreams at the moment," he said.
"I am very happy because I know there is much more to come. My secret is to study opposition defenders and work out their weak points.
"I try to outwit them with my speed and anticipation in the area. So my goals are not down to luck.
"Perhaps the better physical preparation here in England is the key to my performances.
"This aspect of the game is better than in South America and I have profited."
Hernandez will be looking to continue his rich vein of form if he is selected to face Bolton in today's Premier League encounter having helped United gun down Marseille in the midweek Champion's League game with a brace.
On his Tuesday night triumph, he added: "I'll always remember that night. The Champions League is the best competition worldwide so I'm very happy.
"Mr Ferguson's comments are very important to me. He has given me such confidence, he raises my morale and my only hope is that nothing changes."

just count the trophies that ManU won during the Fergie's era. but I do think it's time for Fergie to consider moving Berba to the mid-field where his speed is not a liability and he can maximize his touch and passing skill. ManU are set at strikers with Rooney, Chicharito with Campbell and Macheda are set to return. That's is if ManU can not unload Berba over the summer.

The boy has been terrific and we might be 6-9 pts down had he not been here. The kid is savvy, an accomplished finisher and was rated the fasted player with the ball at his feet this year at the WC. However he has a long way to go on certain skills...

Including and especially when he comes back for the ball on the run to hold it up he loses it more often than not. He needs to work on that daily in training. Pretty good start though. Now if only Sir Alex could find that attacking central midfielder to replace Scholes the same way.....

Not much Sir Alex can do. Hernadez is chipping away with the goals and most of his goals have been match winning goals. Based on goals scored, the most obvious choice would be to leave Rooney out, but he offers so much more than his goals. You can see Berba is low on confidence at the moment but all the strikers gotta look at the bigger picture.....the team.

yes by all means, sir alex should take the advice of a spurs fan. in fact, why doesn't he model his club after the spurs, seeing as how they have won so many titles. saf is saving berbatov for the stretch, and coming off the bench, scores the winning goal. yep, saf is a raving lunatic for sure, has no idea whatsoever what he is doing. clueless spurs fans once again proving that talking about results is lots easier than achieving results. big win today philly? oh no, that's right, you dropped points, goalless draw. good thing saf didn't start taking your advice today!

Arsenal's title challenge suffered a serious blow as their late rally was only enough to secure a 2-2 draw with West Brom at The Hawthorns.
Albion were 2-0 up just before the hour mark when Peter Odemwingie capitalised on a mix-up between Manuel Almunia and Sebastien Squillaci to add to Steven Reid's early header.

The Gunners staged a comeback with goals in the 70th minute from Andrey Arshavin and 78th from Robin van Persie, but they could not find a winner and are now five points behind Premier League leaders Manchester United, who beat Bolton 1-0 at Old Trafford.
The Baggies, meanwhile, are a point above the relegation zone in 16th place as they were at the start of the day.
Arsene Wenger's team were in need of a lift following their Carling Cup final defeat and elimination from the Champions League and FA Cup over the last few weeks, but they made the worst possible start as West Brom took the lead after only three minutes.
Albion skipper Chris Brunt swung in a corner and Reid was allowed the space to jump and crash a header beyond Almunia for his first Premier League goal for nearly five years.
Aaron Ramsey - who was starting a game for the Gunners for the first time since breaking his leg last season - appeared to be the main culprit in failing to mark Reid as Arsenal's defensive frailties were laid bare.
Moments later Jerome Thomas won the ball and broke forward, sending in a dangerous delivery that just evaded Odemwingie.
The visitors started to gain more possession but were struggling to get a proper foothold and the game was temporarily halted after 20 minutes when Laurent Koscielny clashed heads with James Morrison, the latter having to come off for treatment.
While Morrison was off the pitch Arsenal showed some threatening signs, with only the head of Jonas Olsson preventing Ramsey getting on the end of a Gael Clichy cross.
Arsenal should have then equalised when van Persie's header came back off the bar.
The ball dropped to Ramsey right in front of goal, but the Wales midfielder could only strike it straight at Scott Carson.
As Morrison returned with a bandage around his head the Gunners continued to press, Samir Nasri seeing a cross come off the legs of Abdoulaye Meite towards goal but Carson was able to avert the danger.
Van Persie tried his luck just before the break but his shot was off-target.
There was a substitution for each side at half-time as Albion boss Roy Hodgson brought on Marek Cech for Paul Scharner, who had also taken a knock to the head, and Wenger introduced Marouane Chamakh in place of Denilson in an attempt to give his side more attacking impetus.
Chamakh soon sent a header goalwards but it did not trouble Carson and within minutes, the Baggies were almost 2-0 in front as Brunt slid in to meet Cech's cross, the captain just poking it the wrong side of the post.
Wenger bolstered his forward line again with Nicklas Bendtner coming on for Ramsey, but just seconds later West Brom did score again - thanks in no small part to Almunia.
The Spanish goalkeeper came charging out of his box when Youssouf Mulumbu launched a long ball forward but completely misjudged it before getting in a tangle with Squillaci and Odemwingie gleefully slotted into the net.
The home of the best LIVE soccer and rugby awaits at FoxSoccer.tv -- don't miss a second of the action.

The watching Jens Lehmann, back on the Arsenal bench after rejoining the club on a rolling monthly contract earlier in the week, looked less than impressed.
When Koscielny picked up a booking for a hefty challenge on Odemwingie and van Persie blazed a free-kick over the bar, the Gunners seemed to be fading, but a slick move saw them suddenly pull a goal back through Arshavin, who played a one-two with Chamakh before turning and rifling a shot beyond Carson.
Marc-Antoine Fortune came on for Odemwingie but Arsenal began pouring forward and eight minutes after Arshavin's strike they found a leveller, with the Russian again the catalyst.
His looping cross hit the post and Meite was unable to deal with the rebound before van Persie bundled it over the line.
Arsenal now looked the more likely winners, but Fortune went close at the other end, cutting into the box and seeing his shot deflect wide.
Play switched once more and the Gunners sent a succession of balls into the West Brom box, but there was no way through.
Jack Wilshere shot over the bar and Carson saved from Clichy at the death as Albion hung on for a vital point.

Manchester United have their eye back on Shakhtar's Douglas Costa

• Brazilian watches Bolton match as United's guest
• Sir Alex Ferguson previously tried to sign 20-year-old

    Douglas-Costa-Manchester--007.jpg
Brazilian Douglas Costa is reported to be a target of renewed interest for Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United. Photograph: Juan Barreto/AFP/Getty Images Manchester United have resurrected their longstanding interest in Douglas Costa, the 20-year-old Brazilian who was once hailed as "the new Ronaldinho" and has been on Sir Alex Ferguson's radar for the past four years.
Costa, a part of the Shakhtar Donetsk side that have reached the Champions League quarter-finals, was a guest of the club for the 1-0 defeat of Bolton Wanderers, sitting in the directors' box alongside several of his representatives and United officials.
The club would not make any official comment but the Observer has been told Ferguson still has a serious interest in the player almost two years after he first tried to sign him from the Brazilian club Gremio. The proposed deal fell through at the time and Costa eventually moved to Skakhtar for a cut-price €6m in January 2010. After a slow start, he has become a key member of Mircea Lucescu's squad, scoring 15 goals in 61 appearances.
The fee may constitute a problem, though, with Shakhtar understood to want a sizeable profit if they are to lose the Under-20 international. Costa's advisers have been led to believe that may be a minimum £20m.
Ferguson, however, has long rated Costa among the more exciting young talents to emerge from South America, after coming to his attention via the club's extensive scouting network in Brazil. Costa has indicated he would like to move to England, despite having four years of his contract to run.
Costa helped Brazil to victory in the South American Youth Championship in 2009, scoring three goals in the process, but United's interest in the player dates back to when he was 16. Gremio is the club where Ronaldinho made his breakthrough and Costa has obvious similarities in terms of his ability to run with the ball and beat opponents, operating on either flank or in an advanced midfield position.

West Ham claimed a valuable point after battling out a goalless draw with London rivals Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Saturday lunchtime.

Michael Dawson, Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon all rattled the woodwork and Jermain Defoe was guilty of missing several good opportunities to break the deadlock, while West Ham stopper Robert Green performed superbly.
It is the sixth time that Spurs have failed to take all three points following a Champions League game and last week's aggregate win over Milan now seems a distant memory.
The result means Tottenham trail Chelsea by two points ahead of their match against Manchester City while a rejuvenated West Ham are now out of the relegation zone.
Hope was high for Spurs before kick off after Bale was passed fit to make his first start in two months while Harry Redknapp sprung a surprise by dropping Peter Crouch for Defoe, who was looking to score his 100th Spurs goal.
Avram Grant recalled Demba Ba and handed Lars Jacobsen the task of shackling Bale at right-back.
The Hammers went in to the match looking for their first win at White Hart Lane since April 1999 when Redknapp was in the opposition dugout.
Three minutes had elapsed when Dawson picked up a Modric pass and rattled the bar with a superb curling effort.
Bale then cut a low cross inside the box for Defoe, who flicked a shot inches wide of Green's far post to deny the former West Ham man.
West Ham continued to struggle as Modric and Rafael Van der Vaart both went close before Demba Ba slid Carlton Cole through against the run of play, but the former Chelsea man's weak shot was easily gathered by Heurelho Gomes.
Modric's trickery allowed him to sneak past his marker soon after but the 20-yard shot he aimed at goal slipped a matter of centimetres past Green's right-hand post.
With five minutes of the first half left, Lennon struck a post after racing down the right but the rebound off the woodwork caught Defoe by surprise and the striker's improvised six-yard effort went two yards wide of goal with Green stranded at the near post.
Carlton Cole turned William Gallas on the edge of the box and drew a good one-handed save from Heurelho Gomes at the start of the second period as West Ham looked to shock the hosts with an early strike.
Noble then drew the fury of the home bench after sliding in let with a two-footed challenge on Bale. Referee Mike Dean gave the midfielder a yellow card.
Green kept the scores level with a quick reaction save with his legs from Defoe's six-yard stab after Redknapp chose to switch Bale and Lennon.
Gary O'Neil tricked his way past Benoit Assou-Ekotto and his cross flew into Noble's path but his overhead kick flew a foot wide.
The home of the best LIVE soccer and rugby awaits at FoxSoccer.tv -- don't miss a second of the action.

Cole's mis-timed challenge saw him plunge his studs into Sandro's shin. The Brazilian needed treatment but returned to the pitch soon after and the striker was booked.
West Ham performed much better in the second half and looked far more comfortable on the ball.
Cole had an appeal for a penalty turned down on the hour after Dawson appeared to push the striker as he went up for a header.
Ba then unleashed a 25-yard piledriver that Gomes saved magnificently with a diving one-handed save.
Pavlyuchenko fluffed a chance to put Tottenham ahead from eight yards, but then almost immediately made up for his failure, drawing a top save from Green with a 25-yard drive.
Upson hacked down Modric on the edge of the box with six minutes left, handing the hosts a good opportunity to snatch the win.
Bale stepped up and bent a left-foot shot destined for the top corner that Green somehow tipped onto the bar. The ball dropped down and Jacobsen hooked clear, much to the visitors' relief.
Pavlyuchenko played Defoe in with two minutes left but he blasted high and wide before Modric did the same in the last minute of injury time.
