Manchester United moved five points clear at the top of the Premier League thanks to its late winner in a 1-0 victory against Bolton on Saturday while second-place Arsenal only managed a 2-2 draw at West Bromwich Albion.
United was down to 10 men following Jonny Evans' sending off in the 76th minute when substitute Dimitar Berbatov capitalized on Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen's error to grab the winning goal in the 88th for his league-high 20th of the season.

Arsenal, which has a game in hand, scored twice in the final 20 minutes - through Andrey Arshavin and Robin van Persie - to claim a point at the Hawthorns but lost ground in its title challenge.
Fifth-place Tottenham's push for a top-four finish was held up by drawing 0-0 at home to West Ham, which climbed out of the relegation zone with its point.
Wigan won 2-1 at home to Birmingham, which dropped to second from bottom, but remained in last place by a point. Wolverhampton stayed in the relegation area despite its 1-0 victory at Midlands rival Aston Villa.
In a congested lower half of the table, three points separate the bottom eight teams.
In other results Saturday, Blackburn scored a late equalizer to draw 2-2 at home to Blackpool and Stoke thrashed midtable rival Newcastle 4-0.
United manager Alex Ferguson watched his side get out of jail from the stands, as he was serving the first match of a five-game touchline ban for criticizing a referee earlier this month.
Evans, back in United's team after injury, was shown a straight red card for a studs-up challenge on Bolton midfielder Stuart Holden, who had to be carried off on a stretcher with a deep gash in his left knee.
Matt Taylor then missed a close-range header that would have put the visitors in front and Berbatov made him pay, taking advantage of Jaaskelainen's inability to hold a long shot from Nani to slot the rebound into an empty net.
United avoided losing a third straight league game for the first time since December 2001.
Arsenal gave renewed hope to Manchester City and Chelsea, who play each other at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, of a second-place finish by dropping two more points in the title race.

Steven Reid and Peter Odemwingie scored either side of the break to give West Brom a two-goal lead, but Arshavin started Arsenal's comeback in the 70th minute and Van Persie equalized eight minutes later.
''I am disappointed we dropped two points, but it was psychologically important for the rest of the season to show character and not lose the game,'' Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said.
City is five points behind Arsenal, with Chelsea a further two back. Tottenham is two points behind Chelsea.
Tottenham's disappointment at only drawing with West Ham would have been slightly tempered by the news hours after the final whistle that star winger Gareth Bale had signed a 4 1/2-year contract with the club.
Spurs were denied at White Hart Lane by the woodwork, some poor finishing by striker Jermain Defoe and some great goalkeeping by West Ham's Robert Green.
Matt Jarvis was Wolves' match winner at Villa Park and Maynor Figueroa's injury-time winner salvaged the crucial win for Wigan.
Liam Ridgewell had put Birmingham ahead in the sixth but Tom Cleverley equalized in the 25th.
Blackpool went 2-0 up at Blackburn through two first-half goals by returning captain Charlie Adam but Christopher Samba and David Hoilett pegged the visitors back.
Jon Walters, Jermaine Pennant, Danny Higginbotham and Ricardo Fuller scored Stoke's goals against Newcastle.

Arsene Wenger insists Arsenal must not be "ashamed" of their season so far - and reiterated they have the mental strength to deliver the title.
The battle-weary Gunners head to West Brom on Saturday afternoon out to make sure their title bid does not fall by the wayside following a testing spell which has seen Arsenal first lose the Carling Cup final at Wembley before then crashing out of both Europe to Barcelona and the FA Cup at Manchester United.

Nevertheless, with 10 matches left, Arsenal know their destiny is in their hands as they currently trail leaders United by three points, but crucially with a match in hand ahead of the May 1 showdown against Sir Alex Ferguson's men at the Emirates Stadium.
Much has been made of Arsenal's inability to deliver a big performance when it has mattered most.
But as his squad - still without injured captain Cesc Fabregas and England winger Theo Walcott - prepare to answer yet more questions of character in the search for a first trophy since 2005, Wenger maintains all is not yet lost.
"If you look at what we did this season, it deserves a lot of credit," said the Arsenal boss.
"You have to put it right until the end of the season and continue to do as we did at the start of the season.
"Would anybody have predicted that we are where we are, in front of Chelsea and Manchester City and fighting for the championship? Nobody.
"We went out against Barcelona - it's just one goal, playing with 10 men and we had a chance in the last minute to qualify.
"I don't think we have to be ashamed of what we did - we should be proud of what we did until now. So let people talk and let us do the job."
Wenger continued: "At the moment, the team needs mental toughness and to support each other, that's what you need.
"We are not in a disastrous situation and not to feel sorry for ourselves - we are in a position where we have to be attracted by what we can achieve.
"We are not fighting not to go down, we are fighting to win the championship, so we do not want to feel sorry for ourselves; just go for it.
"We went out of cup competitions, but what is stake is a championship and that means that the team has been the most consistent.
"When you want to be consistent you have to deal with disappointments."
Veteran keeper Jens Lehmann has given the squad a boost this week after answering an SOS to come out of retirement and help ease the Gunners' goalkeeping injury crisis.
Wenger believes the 41-year-old will help add experience to the dressing room.
"Jens is not a talker, it is more his attitude. His focus, determination and if he needs to say something to somebody, he does," Wenger said.
"The team is more a unit. They are all young players.
"There is always a first time that you have to get over in life.
"The best way to get over that is to focus on the football that we want to play, continue to believe in the way that we want to play and focus on supporting each other and stay above the line and don't get pulled down."
Wenger added: "These players have grown up together. They have been educated together, they have gone through different periods together.
"I am convinced, at the end of the day, that Arsenal has a special meaning for them and that will come out."
