Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation minister Bernard Membe yesterday assured diplomats that the government was taking measures it deems fit to redress the recent political mishap in Arusha Region.
The ministers assurance came after some members of the diplomatic community expressed concern over the clash between the police and the opposition political party members during demonstrations over the disputed Arusha mayoral elections.
The government is concerned with the loss of lives in the fracas but its important for diplomats to be patient; the Prime Minister is due to make a statement on the issue, Membe said after he had an audience with the diplomats in Dar es Salaam yesterday.
