[h=3]BRITAIN'S Iron Lady Baroness Thatcher died yesterday - in bed at London's five-star Ritz hotel.[/h]The ex-Prime Minister, 87, suffered a stroke at 11.28am while reading in a suite where pals had put her up since Christmas.
One close friend calling it "a good way to go".

Her 59-year-old twin children Mark and Carol were abroad.
Tributes poured in for the politician, dubbed our greatest peacetime PM. She will have a Princess Di-style funeral in St Paul's Cathedral next week.

Lady Thatcher had endured a series of mini-strokes and last December underwent surgery to remove a growth from her bladder.

Flags on government buildings across Whitehall were lowered to half-mast yesterday, as was the Union Flag over Buckingham Palace.
Similar scenes were seen in the Falkland Islands, where Lady Thatcher is regarded as a heroine for refusing to back down when Argentina invaded in 1982. Flowers were also laid at a road named after her in the remote British territory.

Antiques dealer Mark Law, 47, said: "It's incredibly sad. I was at school when she first became PM and people younger than me don't remember how bad the country was.

Lady Thatcher's former Labour nemesis Lord Kinnock passed on his condolences to her family, but added: "Thatcherism was an unmitigated disaster for Britain."
Some Left-wing activists who had long held her as a hate figure provoked disgust by holding street parties to celebrate her demise.

Meanwhile anarchists are planning a weekend party in Trafalgar Square to celebrate Lady Thatcher's death.
