In this view how can the clean and well respected leader of world class his excellency president Baraka Obama visit this regime under such acts and call them friend? It will be a big shame to him and the Americans.

The U.S. Embassy has learned from multiple sources of political unrest in the Arusha area. According to reports, the unrest followed an opposition party gathering the afternoon of Tuesday, June 18th, in the Manzese/Soweto/Kaloleni area of Arusha--the same area where an explosion killed several people at an opposition political rally on Saturday, June 15th. At this time we understand that a significant quantity of tear gas has been launched, a number of people have been reported to be injured, and three leading opposition figures and some supporters have been arrested.
There is no indication that any threat or violence was directed at foreigners, foreign businesses, or American citizens.
Please distribute this message to any visitors in the Arusha area.
