Manchester United won by a solitary goal last night against Aston Villa and here are 10 things we learned from that game.
1. Rooney's lack of away goals is scary. He's not scored one since November 2014. We need those goals.
2. Just as Van Gaal predicted, Januzaj seems to flourish much better in his new role as he did over the pre-season tour. Maybe the Boss has found a solution for Adnan, and that's great news.
3. Chris Smalling is the kind of defence.
4. Juan Mata Matters. His passes were sublime and he was very good on the forward line.
5. Daley Blind seems to get better with every other game in the centre-back. He was on top of his game last night.
6.Matteo Darmian tangles with Micah Richard were comedic! That's a side of Darmian I am beginning to love.
7. Memphis Depay needs to calm down. Take it slow, and focus. You can see the brilliance, but there is a rush that just makes things too much.
8. The Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger substitution was awesome. The German tank just brought control and there was immediate composure.
9. Ander Herrera matters and he needs to start. It hurt me to see him on the bench...
10. When Schwein, Schneiderlin and Ander Herrera played together, United were more threatening and there was more purpose. They need to start, next time.
10.1 But we need strikers and creativity.
10.2 Even with a quiet night, you have to admit Sergio Romero is coming up well.
10.3 It was a boring game, let's admit it.
10.4 This was not the best performance, but 3-points is enough for now,
10.5 We need more entertainment on Fridays, Attack. Attack. & speed.
