The Anti-Corruption Court has remanded Kayiwa Amir until September 30, 2026, after he was charged with offering gratification.
Kayiwa was arraigned this afternoon by the Inspectorate of Government’s Anti-Graft Unit, together with the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
Prosecution alleges that on August 29, 2026, at Lubowa in Kajjansi Town Council, Wakiso District, Kayiwa offered UGX8 million to police officers guarding a crime scene.
The alleged bribe was intended to enable him access to the office of Asimwe Emmanuel at Details Security Company Ltd, where he reportedly planned to remove vital evidence.
The incident followed an earlier complaint to the Anti-Graft Unit over the alleged theft of 785 kilograms of gold from the premises of Details Security Company Ltd.
The complaint prompted the Anti-Graft Unit and police to secure and cordon off the scene as investigations into the alleged gold theft got underway.
Kayiwa will remain on remand until his next court appearance on September 30
