Mombasa port is also expanding rapidly. They are building a new 450,000 TEU container terminal and 2 new berths. This project is called the second container terminal phase two. The second container terminal phase one was completed in 2016 and had a capacity of 550,000 TEUs. When both phase 1 and 2 of the second container terminal will be complete, they will add 1 million TEUs to Mombasa port's capacity. A few days ago I used google map and I could see that phase two of the second container terminal was almost complete. Hopefully it will be completed by end of this year

It is easy for Tanzanians to talk rubbish about Kenyan ports but the reality is that Kenyan ports are expanding rapidly, both Lamu port and Mombasa port.
