Kim Jong Un secured another sweeping electoral victory as his Workers' Party of Korea and its allies claimed 99.97% of the vote and all seats in the 2026 parliamentary elections, according to state media outlet KCNA. The vote was held on March 15 to elect members of the 15th Supreme People's Assembly.

Official figures reported that 99.99% of registered voters took part, with only 0.0037% unable to vote due to being abroad or working at sea, and just 0.00003% abstaining. Of those who voted, 99.93% supported the candidates, while 0.07% voted against, an unusually noted figure in North Korean elections.

Under DPRK election laws, 687 representatives, including workers, farmers, intellectuals, service personnel, and officials, were elected to the assembly. With only one candidate listed per constituency, outside observers described the process as a “show election.” Notably, state media acknowledged opposing votes for the first time in a Supreme People’s Assembly election since 1957.

Among those elected was Kim Yo Jong, sister of Kim Jong Un, who won in Kallimgil Constituency No. 5.
While such overwhelming victories are typical in North Korea, the 0.07% dissenting votes quickly caught attention online. Social media users reacted with sarcasm and humor, with one writing, “Moment of silence for the 0.07%.” Another joked, “Give me the names of those 0.07%,” alongside an image of Kim.

A third quipped, “In unrelated news, population expected to decrease by 0.07% this summer.”
"That 0.07% just became the most wanted people in the country," another user wrote on X.

Upinzani ulikuwa mkali sana. Yani 0.07% wamempinga!?
Demokrasia inaendelea kushamiri!!

“While I don’t want to indulge myself in matters the Tanzanian president can handle herself, it is impossible in a genuine democracy like Kenya.”

Dictators all over the world use the same playbook!
