Kanye West may have accepted the fact that he’ll never be President of the United States, as his presidential campaign seems to be grinding to a halt.
Radar Online received copies of Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings from West’s campaign on Monday (July 17), wherein they revealed that the “Stronger” rapper hadn’t received a single donation in weeks. On April 1, 2023, the campaign had $124,873 in its coffers — however, by the time June 30, 2023 rolled around, more than $101,000 was paid out to consultants and other employees.
And while the campaign doesn’t have any outstanding debts, there’s only about $23,000 in cash left for the “Kanye 2020” campaign.
What’s more, Kanye West claimed that he spent over $2 million in bills, but only pulled in about $455,000 in donations, since the campaign begin.
Part of those expenses include a $31,000 check to Milo Yiannopoulos, an alt-right provocateur who was billed as West’s “Director of Political Operations.” The legality of that payment, however, is currently the subject of much controversy.
Yiannopoulos — best known for his criticisms of everything from the Muslim religion to feminism — was hired as the campaign manager by the embattled Yeezy CEO after having a fallout with fellow alt-right extremist Nick Fuentes, according to Forbes. The outlet also reports that West’s hiring of the British provocateur came after he “fell out” with Donald Trump.
Kanye West’s quest for the presidency has been nothing if not beleaguered.
Back in April, it was reported that Kanye West pulled out of the presidential race altogether once he realized that political shenanigans were afoot in his quest for the White House.
