I would add that while I believe that the president is the best candidate that Tanzania would have hoped for post-2015, we could have done better had he surrounded himself with the best technocrats who understand the art-of-the-trade, and who are free to uncompromisingly tell the stick-in-your-face truth. Unfortunately, the president is overly sensitive to brutal truth, honest reality and critical analysis. Critical evaluation and self-evaluation is what distinguishes great nations from mediocre ones. The president has to learn to identify the best, skilled people, but also has to learn to downgrade his own alter ego and let them do their work and tell him the truth, even brutal truth.
He has also surrounded himself with the likes of Paul makonda, the one in Mbeya..forgot his name, and that little dude in Iringa...Hapi is his name or something like that.
These kind of people do nothing but make him look bad, if not worse!
