- Uganda has confirmed seven cases of Ebola and one death resulting. This was announced by the permannet secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Diana Atwiine.
Dr. Atwiine did announce that mass gatherings were prohibited unless cleared by the ministry and following the clearly stipultaed standard operating procedures.

She also added that the schools at border districts will remain open and must identify any students that have come from the Democratic Republic of Congo, put them in isolation for 21 days, while testing them daily and report any student that shows the signs of Ebola.

A video circulating on Tiktok portraying the former Minister of Health, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng announcing closure of all schools due to the Ebola outbreak. The video was posted on an account under the username "ur uganda."

There is no media report or official communication attesting to this report.Further investigation revealed that Dr. Ruth is no longer the Minister of Health in Uganda, following the announcement of the new cabinet in May 2026
