Yesterday i went to a birthday.
And my ooh my. Despite the good time i had; i got blown away when a daddy stood up with an acoustic guitar and covered a song Go Gentle by Robbie Williams.
Every one in the room was mesmerized.
It was the biggest surprise to me; especially from an African Parent.
And a birthday girl cried a lot; truly i was moved.
A parent was very open to his daughter, especially in matters we Africans dare can't brag about.
I came to realize one thing,
Every father is a girl's first LOVE.
That's why when they grow up and try to move away from home they become over protective and can't hide the jealousy.
Parenting is more than taking a child to expensive schools, colleges and paying all the bills: No maaan parenting is all about connecting.
Regardless of the material wealth you wield.
If you have a baby girl,
Is she happy being with you?
Does she feel safe being around?
Does she enjoy your company?
Above all do you ever tell her that you LOVE HER and she's beautiful no matter how or what she may be?
Simply telling her "no scars to your beautiful"
This is the Original Song.
