Cost comparison SGR Kenya vs SGR Tanzania

Naona mnahamisha magoli kwa kudai eti Jwtz wanajenga reli wakati wananchi watanzania hawana ajira? Hii SGR kama haitapotea hivo tu hewani itakamilika 2035 earliest.
Ushahidi wa 28% kwa Picha sio video ya wakuu wa serikali wakirandaranda same place different times na pia mlete hadi locations with shots taken from a distance to ascertain authenticity of the said/ purported different locations tena sio kwa tweets. Tunawajua kwa kuongoza Afrika kupika data na giving false information.
No vizuri ukawa na ufahamu, sio kubwabwaja. Jeshi ni lazima wajifunze ujenzi, na uendeshaji as reli. Mtakapo goma kazi as kuendesha. Jeshi litachukuwa hatamu.

Avd Speed Tz 160km/hr
Avg Speed Ke 120km/hr

Carrying capacity per year TZ = 18 Million Tonnes minimum - Maximum 25 Million tonnes
Carrying capacity per year Ke = 22 Million Tonnes - Maximum 35 Million tonnes

Utahitaji Tafakari ya babu ndo uelewe hii biashara inavyopelekwa

Na vyuma vya reli pia kuna vitu lazima viwe tofauti

Dar es Salaam. Construction of the first phase of standard gauge railway (SGR) from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro will be completed by November 2, next year the government said.

The section of the line linking Morogoro to Makotobora in Dodoma will be completed in February 2021, according to the government.

The construction in all phases of the project covering the two sections is projected to cost Sh7.1 trillion.

Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) managing director Masanja Kadogosa said on Wednesday, November 14 that the project was being implemented phase after phase to ensure it is completed in the set time.

"Every section of the project has its own manager, this is intended to ensure that the timeframe is observed and that the project will be implemented without affecting each other,” he said.

He said currently, the construction from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro has been implemented by 34 per cent.

According to him, a total of 26 bridges will be constructed in order to complete the first phase of the project covering Dar es Salaam and Morogoro.

"The project has also created 6,500 jobs to Tanzanians with different professions including drivers, engineers and technicians,” he said.

Proposed New Railway line (In red)
Officials from Rwanda and Tanzania are expected to meet and make final decision on the official kick off for the construction of Isaka-Kigali railway project, KT Press has learnt.

In January this year, a communiqué that was signed by transport Ministers from both countries indicated that the project would be launched in October 2018.

Rwanda will contribute $1.2 billion on construction of 150km network, while the rest, $1.3 billion will be contributed by Tanzania.

In May this year, State Minister for Transport Eng. Jean de Dieu Uwihanganye said that the kick off for construction works will begin around December this year.

In a phone interview with KT Press on Monday, Patricie Uwase – the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Infrastructure said that officials from both countries will soon meet to make final decisions on the construction works.

She said that officials from both countries were supposed to meet on Monday this week, but Tanzanian officials were still engaged in other assignments.

“The Heads of State want this project to start soon. We have been meeting with officials on the Tanzania side. We are waiting for Tanzanian officials and meet to make final decisions,” she told KT Press.

Meanwhile, Rwanda’s Minister of Infrastructure Claver Gatete met and held discussions on the project with his Tanzanian counterpart – Eng. Isack Kamwelwe on October 22.

The two Ministers reviewed the progress and policies and strategic actions to facilitate construction of the project.

CARGO transportation costs are expected to drop by 40 per cent once the new train on the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) starts operations.

Already 110 graduates in various professions have started practical trainings on how to run the modern train. Speaking to reporters in Dar es Salaam yesterday on the three-year performance of Tanzania Railway Corporation (TRC) since President John Magufuli assumed office, TRC Director General, Masanja Kadogosa, said the identified graduates will later be taken abroad for further training.

The aim is to have sufficient number of locals who will take part in maintaining the project and running various systems, including European Train Control System level 2 and the central Train Control in future.

According to Mr Kadogosa, part of the training will start on November 26, this year, with trainers from Turkey where the SGR project contractor- Y api Merkezi- comes from.

The project that is being constructed from Dar es Salaam to Mwanza, covering 1,219 kilometres, is on its initial stages of construction, starting with the 300 kilometres from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro and 422 kilometres from Morogoro to Dodoma.

Upon completion, the country will have the fast and modern passenger train with a speed of 160 kilometres per hour while the freight train will have the maximum speed of 120 kilometres per hour.

"So far, the first phase of the project from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro is accomplished by 32 per cent and projection is to have the 722 kilometres from Dar es Salaam to Makutupora in Dodoma region completed by February 2021 at the cost of 7.1tri/-, which is issued by the government of Tanzania from own source," he said.

On job creation, TRC boss said there are 6,500 employees, with 96 per cent of them Tanzanians. TRC is also renovating the 970 kilometres of the Central Line Railway to improve its capacity of carrying heavy cargos.

"The renovation will see the new 335-kilometre railway constructed and 555 kilometres upgraded," said Mr Kadogosa.

The TRC Director General was recently quoted as saying the project is also set to have 17 overpasses and 15 underpasses to avoid risks of getting accidents and saving time as the train will be electrically powered.

He said there will be two flyovers in Dar es Salaam, 26 major bridges and 243 small bridges along the railway line from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro.

One flyover will be from the Dar es Salaam Station to Ilala area past Kariakoo and the other will be constructed at Buguruni, the two busiest junctions in the city.
