Chinese companies entice Kenyan youth with ‘hundreds of local jobs’
A consortium of Chinese companies operating in Kenya is set for the inaugural career fair day at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in
Nairobi, today.
In an effort to attract future employees and build relationships with the Kenyan youth, Chinese companies with support from the Chinese Embassy in Kenya, have organized a day-long career fair event.

Under the umbrella Kenya-China Economic & Trade Association (KCETA), the Career Fair set for today, October 29, 2018, will attract some 90 Chinese companies in Kenya who will showcase their businesses and share available job opportunities.

The fair aims at finding employees with the skill set required.
Speaking at the announcement of the Career Fair, KCETA Secretary Emily Li Chen said, “As a crucial player in the country, we believe that it is our mission to build sustainable businesses in Kenya. This is only possible by employing local staff and working together with our local partners. We want to create more job opportunities, especially to the youth who have just graduated, and for those with work experience, provide them with career opportunities, and enable them to apply the skills they learnt in school.”
