Bolt Kenya has dismissed the notice as fake and clarified that it remains fully operational in the country.
The notice, dated 1 June 2026 and purportedly signed by Bolt Kenya Senior Operations Manager Arthur Gacharia, claims the company decided to shut down its Kenyan operations following extensive consultations and an internal review.
However, Bolt has publicly
disowned the document through its official communication channels, stating that it did not originate from the company or any authorised representative.
In an
official statement signed by Bolt East Africa Senior General Manager Dimmy Kanyankole, the company affirmed that it remains fully operational and committed to serving riders, driver-partners, and couriers across Kenya.
Bolt also urged the public to rely only on its verified communication channels for accurate information and said it is investigating the source of the fabricated notice and will take appropriate action against those responsible for creating and spreading the misleading information.
Additionally, Bolt flagged the circulating notice as fake on its official X account.
