The analysis showed a high likelihood of AI-generated speech, with results indicating up to 98.4% probability that the audio was synthetically generated, while no evidence of deepfake facial manipulation was detected.
Further verification through keyframe analysis from Google reverse image search established that the original footage was taken from an interview hosted by OkayAfrica, where Bobi Wine discussed Ugandan politics, life after exile, and related issues. The Original video was published on OkayAfrica’s social media platforms, including their
YouTube on May 15, 2026. At the time of this fact-check, the video had approximately 3,733 views and 229 likes.
Conclusion:
The manipulated clip altered Bobi Wine’s voice using AI-generated speech to create the false impression that he was denouncing Yusuf Kiruluuta Nkeretanyi.
