Ndo utamu wa upinzani. Kupingana bila kupigana. January yuko sahihi na bado ni mpiganaji wa kizazi hiki. Let us not demonize him too much. Too much obsession benumbs objectivity on how we look at things. The worst time to make worst judgement is when you are emotional. Most of us are charged with the account of what happened in DDM and we think the only rational way for any MP was to sign the petition for a motion to unseat the PM. In this charged environment no anyone of us would have thought of another option. Makamba seems to have an option but based on what I have said above the timing to suggest that option may not be right.
So January, Zitto, Filiku(something), Esther, Mnyika and the likes are the youth icons Tanzania should be proud to have produced in this generation. I would encourage them to have non-partisan informal meetings to share their genuine convictions and especially on what they want to do for this country. Being on different political camps does not render them impossible to meet, argue, agree and agree to disagree. This country will not be built by dogmatic thinking. We will only move forward if we nurture constructive conflicts. Tanzania needs some sort of conflict to progress (sina maana ya bloodshed). We will not develop if when we woke in the morning without differing ideas/options to resolve our problems. The differing ideas have to compete and the best is adopted from individual level to institutional level. You won't have the best idea if you do not have the worst. You won't choose if there are no choices, and to choose you have to go through the conflict process. What survives thereafter is the best and strongest option.
So again wanaJF let us nurture the conflict spirit be it at home, work places and especially in politics. If we avoid conflicts we are in a way avoiding development. We need constant agitations, we need to be challenged and this should be a new culture. Whoever comes to power if she/he doesn't deliver the seat he/she seats on will be hot and eventually she/he will be ejected.
