It is another morning in a nation where wonders never cease;

Interestingly,Dr.Mpango has said it all;
They are going to the negotiating table to discus the future of Airtel which used to be so many companies,and we all know what usually happens when this regime goes to the negotiating tables,We lose!
It is not yet time but for sure we need results and so far all that we see is some kind of instability.

What are you negotiating with the thieves as you claim,Is it another Makinikia ya Acacia Saga?

Any way All the best on this one,

The tone has dramatically changed in Dr. Mpango's words.
He is now talking about hopeless contracts and the likes. That was the stupidity of of the Government officials who signed them.
The investor will easily win this battle. Another wastage of time to gain political mileage.

I dont get it, if some regulations were violated all those days, they want either to remedy it or compensated...what is wrong with that?

if they are going to fail during the course that also will be okay at least they tried

we have been always blaming ccm and the govt for corruption contracts all these days....now someone is ON IT...we are coming up with very discouraging statements like this

You know for sure this is not about "tragic failure" it is about your grudges and malice that are hunting you

Businesses should be allowed to go on without all these disruptions. Anyone who has tried their hand in business will agree with me that keeping a business afloat in a competitive market is already a full time job even without government interference.

Celtel/ Airtel is a done deal and should be left alone. Rome was not built in one day, and neither was it built by one government. Each succesive [Roman] regime took from its predeccesors and moved ahead, not backwards - to purputedly correct historical wrongs. The people who were around during divestiture of celtel from ttcl made decisions that were valid in the circumstances obtaining at that time. They were operating with parameters provided to them and under scrutiny of relevant authorities at that time.

What Tanzania needs is more investment, and not scaring away of potential investors, who are already lookin with horror at what happened to Dangote (USD 500M), Acacia (USD 4B), Bagamoyo Port Project (USD 10B), Central Line Project (USD 7.6B) and now Airtel. FDI is the sweetest thing any country in its right senses will try to attract. It brings in new capital to an economy and kick starts multiplier effects within local industries, creating new demand and exponential economic growth. The sum of the parts is greater than the whole.

Finally, there is nothing to be gained by reattaching Airtel to TTCL. Airtel business will stagnate and suffer a long painful death. TTCL's own capital will be eroded as it tries to keep the newly appropriated company afloat in a very red market.

The heading of your post tells more of your sinister attitude towards President Magufuli more than an issue for discussion here in JF.

Furthermore, you conclusion that we all know what usually happens when this regime goes to the negotiating tables,We lose! is not worth a discussion, unless you elaborate what you meant and the facts about that.

Well it is a point of discussion,and it is also in my opinion that this will be futile and tragic as we have seen in the previous attempts by this regime to negotiate.I believe JPM as the HOS has to worry more about giving us tangible results instead of mocking himself through his public announcements which end to nothing but disgracing conclusions which negatively affect our country in the eyes of investors both local and foreign.

If you think my attitude is wrong then think twice.Let him prove us wrong on this one and get Airtel back to TTCL if it is all they can and at least we will have something to brag about.

There is nothing one need to prove, its obvious that since this government in power we have never succeded in any negotiating initiative we took. Similar disgracing results are anticipated and for sure that is all about it.

What action should the current government take other than negotiations since errors were done by the past governments?

Keep on hoping for disgracing results, but what is obvious is the fact that such purposeful stupid errors will not take place again in Magufuli's regime.
