Its thindigua my friend...not thedegua....good to see you making some mulla..thats the advantage of living in a free society...progress is ones choice....but your brothers and sisters back in Tz are chocking and suffocating under CCM yoke of primitive policies..instead of cheer leading them while living the good life in kenya...advice them accordingly....isn't it my friend Mkikuyu Akili-Timamu???
This Akili Timamu guy is a Tanzanian who likes to associate himself with Kenya and would grab the opportunity to change his citizenship to Kenya with both hands. You know someone is a liar when they can't even write the name of their purported "village" correctly. How do you mess up with the name of your ancestral home and expect people to believe you? Huyu ni mnyamwezi kutoka Mbeya

Boss there is No (Zero) foreign Capital Going to Tz Cash crop and horticulture Agriculture, Even in fresh produce such as green beans, avocados etc..Whether Tz will allow colonial white settlers back to their land in exchange for FDI is debatable. There are many more ways of increasing investment in cash crops without surrendering your land to Colonialists, it may take time but it will happen eventually
Ujamaa mind

Why can't the Tz government help tz farmers mechanize their agriculture,am sure this can lift millions of tanzanians out of poverty since majority of tanzanians depend on agriculture, subsistence farming with crude equipments will forever trap people to poverty.
Ndoto za alinacha, aliharibu JK na sera ya kilimo.kwanza iende parallel na foreign investor Ili peasants wajifunze kwa wakulima wakubwa na wapate soko lakini mwendazake kazika kilimo

Precisely. This FDI is lame excuse - actually an attempt to attribute kenya agri sucess to whites - and that subliminal message from the usual kenyan-hater.
Watanzania wamelishwa propaganda hadi basi, they always say GDP ya Kenya ni ya kwenye makaratasi, but when facts, with undeniable evidence ikiwekwa between the two countries wana aibika, u will read vijisababu na argument uchwara. Truth and facts ndio dawa ya Watanzania, they are in total oblivion.

So bad. Hapa ni mtu binafsi achangamke, la sivyo poverty itaendelea kukandamiza watanzania, as they are hoodwinked by propaganda ya flyovers n SGR ya umeme with no substantial economic returns😂😂

Hatuna haja ya wawekezaji katika ardhi, halafu tugeuzwe manamba kwenye nchi yetu, never on earth.

TAEC to install 20bn/- nuclear technology food storage centre
THE Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission (TAEC) is planning to establish a 20bn/- food storage centre that uses nuclear technology.

Senior Researcher at TAEC, Simon Mdoe said.
The modern facility to be installed at Mbezi Luis in Dar es Salaam is projected to play a vital role in expanding and modernising the country's capacity in professional food storage.

Senior Researcher at TAEC, Simon Mdoe said yesterday when speaking to the Guardian along the ongoing Innovation Week Tanzania -IWTz 2021 held in Dodoma.

The envisaged centre will comprise installation of a modern multipurpose irradiator machine and other relevant structures.

“Preliminary work for construction of the vital facility has already started and is expected that upon its completion the center will be prudent in enabling the country to export foods and other agricultural products abroad at recommended quality,” he explained.

He added that with the use of nuclear technology the facility will have the capacity to preserve dry food crops for more than six months.

“The modern storage center will also have capacity to extend shelf life for fresh products such as fish, meat and vegetables to between two and three weeks,” he elaborated.

He observed that Tanzania was exposed to diverse and important external markets for food crops, but it was disconcerting to learn that only 10 percent of the country's capacity is being exported due to low storage technologies of items meant for exportation.

Mdoe noted that nuclear technology was vital for development of the industrial economy in Tanzania, but the use of the vital technology is still low, just at 40 percent.

Tanzania adopted nuclear technology in 1978, but started to use it in the 1990s.

According to him, nuclear technology plays paramount roles in different sectors, including health, water, mining, industrial and in power generation.

Kilombero Sugar Company, in which Illovo Sugar Africa holds a 75 per cent stake and the government a 25 per cent interest, has approved a Sh571.6-billion, expansion project.

The expansion project, which is in alignment with Tanzania's policy to achieve self-sufficiency by 2025, will increase Kilombero’s sugar production by 144 000 tons annually to 271 000 tons per annum.

“We are tremendously proud to be partnering with the Tanzanian people in what is a landmark investment aimed at reducing the amount of sugar which has to be imported into the country every year, to meet consumption demand.

"By effectively reducing sugar imports by 144 000 t, our estimates are that Tanzania will be saving $71 million a year in foreign exchange," comments Illovo Sugar Africa Managing director Gavin Dalgleish.

A driving force behind the manufacturing expansion will be the almost three-fold increase in cane supply from Kilombero’s small-scale growers, from 600 000 tons currently to 1.7-million tons.

The number of small-scale farmers supplying cane to Kilombero is expected to increase from the current 7 500 to between 14 000 and 16 000.

Importantly, the proposed new sugar factory has been sized so that all of the available cane will be crushed by end of December each year, in order to minimise disruptions and losses often caused by the onset of the rainy season.

The expansion project, which is set for completion in July 2023, will include the construction of additional sugar storage and packaging facilities, as well as the cogeneration of electricity for the Kilombero manufacturing complex and for export to the national grid.

It will also result in a four-million-litre-a-year increase in the production of ethanol at the adjacent ethanol distillery to 16-million litres a year to meet growing local and East African export demand for potable alcohol.
