African Satellite World and Sat Gear

Once you input P"vu keys, it should bring on the pictures. If it does not and you are using SRT 4922, downgrade to ver 1.46, you can get it from Download Software | Strong Technologies thereafter update to ver 190p. Key in afresh the P"VU keys. This will also work very well for NSS12 @ 57e if you are fan of EPL. Note that CN@ and HB@ share the same ident with Discover@ (turbo, sci and channel), therefore start with Disc....

Tolgos! It worked with version 1.92p, unfortunately, i lost HB@ n C*N the moment Disc###### N****ks started working. On my setup one is appearing on 3*76H an the other on 3*74V. i deleted the tp and reloaded but refused to display.

Over the wkd i will try to add A76.5 as a parasite an maybe later Nss12.

Thanks you for your time an assistance.

According to Crosat, it seems there is a new software update for SRT 4930 that can handle Spo*t 24 HD*.
It is called "SRT4930_ALL_180p_20160215.zip**".

8W Eutelsat 8B

Last night I was able to nab Eutelsat 8B at 8w on my 1.2m dish using Invertor Black Dual lnb with SRT 4920a decoder. My Location is Zambia and copperbelt in particular.

The signal was as follows,
11471 V 27500 was at 55%,
11512 V 27500 was at 53%
11554 V 27500 was at 53%.

After scanning the said TP's, no single channel popped.

Someone to give me the Signal Strength they are getting these TPs...

Hi Ilish. Hows Zambia? Am on the equator (Meru kenya) and the percentages on my 65 cm dish are not any better. Are always less than 65.

Zambia is on the far side of equator, for the signals to pop up, i doubt how big that dish would be. Just a thought.

How can I use the VPID in SRT 4950H

Well, you'll need to edit the current VPID: Go to Main Menu, Manual Scan, Select the Frequency you want to edit and press EPG button on RCU. Then go ahead and edit.

In other news e*tv on SES-5 (11785 V 27499) is now $. Viva FTA

Kamathig,

I will surely post pictures here when I try to rescan the dish. My dish size is 1.2m and before this, I did once manage to capture a Ku TP on Arabsat 30e whose beam ends somewhere east of Kenya on my 1.8m Off Set dish with Fuji Star Gold LNB...

In Satellite business, especially when ASAS hits you big time, nothing is impossible.

GOOD NEWS !!

Nilesat says it will expand its satellite services from its existing MENA regions to East and South Africa.

Nilesat’s marketing manager Mohamed El-Sawy is reported as saying it will be investing about $50 million in order to rollout new broadcast services to Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, South Africa, Angola and Nigeria in West Africa.

The satellite operator, which reportedly has new satellites coming on stream in 2017 and 2019, is seeking to enter the highly competitive satellite services sector in the new regions.

Winston Agaba, managing director of the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation, in an interview with The East African newspaper, says: “There are tangible opportunities for hosting local television channels through the digital migration system and provision of satellite back up links to ISPs. But user costs charged for satellite services are still high and ought to be reduced in order to attract more local clients. For example, the Uganda Communications Commission negotiated a one-year service contract on our behalf with Intelsat and EuroSat worth $370,000. We would prefer average user fees of about $200,000 per year in order to ensure sustainable access to these services.”

Probably..but to have additional english content will be of benefit to us. In other news, have you seen the Jamii offering of EPL streaming via fiber with extras? >>

Jamii Telecoms has introduced an Internet-streaming device to provide subscribers with access to over-the-top (OTT) video services including Netflix, Huluplus, Kodi and Cloud TV.

Hi Ilish, how are you doing on the copper belt? For us here in Kenya esp around the equator Eutelsat 8WB is soft game we easily combine it with 7W by lowering the dish a little. I have not tried it alone but a 90cm dish is enough to give the whole package with very strong signal levels. With a 4950h i get 10971V and H at Q78, 11471,11554,11014,11096 and other Tps showing stable together with my MBC & CO stable at Q78 on a 180cm pf. I will test on a 90cm and update.

Just visit the crosat* site and click on the green down-pointing arrow to download zip file (6.67 Mb),
then extract it and feed your "hungry & starving" SRT 4930* stb normally. Your stb will show it as 013p.
I have already updated my old 4930* and it is now at par with SRT 4922* (if not even better) as far as clearing
channels like --Sp*rts* 24*, --S*ny esp*, --bw**, --GM* etc.
I just love this decosh. Old is GOLD. Don't throw away your old SRT 4930******
