openbox v8 combo reboots when I switch to a new channel. Any solution guys.

Important Notice:
V8Combo/A5S/V8Pro will auto reboot when channel changed today.

Please do the following!

1) Power off the box
2) plug out the signal cable
3) Power on box
4) backup your channel list
5) update the last firmware
Download firmware from this link http://www.freesat.cn/v.asp?big=32&small=59&id=58

This seems to b a 1 Dec 2015 bug lol....

THE FIX:
Change the date setting from "GMT" to "User" and then change the month from 12 to 10.

Freesat have a fix.
freesat service
for the V8 Combo and
freesat service
for the V8 Pro.

Not to worry our boxes r not dead

upgrade to the version dated 1st December then factory reset and start a fresh. Dont copy/upgrade user db or rather dont upgrade using your saved channels. Had a similar issue am now sorted. check freesat.cn for further advice.

OK move down one degree and nab sea 5 if your lnb is high gain you have to get 4.8e,5.2e and 7e on 90cm like me here

I followed your advice and everything is perfect! I'm using the black inverto

Remember also there are two digits below ident. When filling in the keys, the first should be 00 and the second one be 01

I think the location of your P.F LNB for Yamal is the issue, just keep in mind it's high up (a difference of 20deg) and also don't put Yamal on the same (imaginary) line as Apstar move it a lil bit to the left.

This new firmware for Openbox V8 Combo is only 5.65 Mb in size and it downloads as just "V8".
Have I got the right software considering that most previous updates are about 8.20 Mb in size?
Kindly please advise.

They all have been that size. Zipped ofcourse.Once you extract it will be the size you are used to

Yamal is easier in your setup if iso is your main, it's just below it, and should observe the positioning of lnb holders, as you stand in front of dish make sure that one holder is running from top to bottom parallel to you

I have downloaded the latest file 5mb and extracted it. its 8mb. Kwani si this your first time to do this???

Good and stable is all I can say on the 2/12/2015 update of the v8 combo. Played a movie that was freezing earlier. It's now stable.
