Star: I hear from those who have tried that you can combine 7a (7e), SES 5 (5e) and 7W in that 130cm. I can't wait to try this when I get mine (still stuck in Luthuli)I think when I get space I'll add a 130cm offset for 7a and use the current 90 cm for SES 5 and maybe combine multiple lnbs to nab additional sat's.
BTW what's the difference between 130cm and 150cm in signal strength? is 150 cm overkill? the price difference is huge.
I've read some ASAS afflicted guys spend 250k+ on dishes and gear!!!
This is not good news at all! So that means we need to start bird hunting again, those of us who were stuck on 7A?Thanks Vicwa for this fine clarification.... We are done. Better start looking for alternatives.
Langas: as you have been advised, the best option is to read the previous posts. That's where we all started. After you get the gist, start with the easiest birds to nab like SES 5 which is an African beam. Our Maths teacher used to tell us to solve the sums, from the known, to the unknown. That's how you will find x easily. Good luckGuys I finally acquired the famed srt 4950h (6k @ Fecom). I am new to the world of FTA. Having acquired the box I have no clue where to start. Can someone please give a short step by step tutorial on how I can track a satellite and recieve some channels. Or please refer me to a manual that already exists. I am in Eld by the way. My decoder is hooked to a 90cm dish with a universal lnb in the dstv position(its a dstv dish). Thanks in advance.

I lost BBC knowledge.
I have in the past managed to nab 5e and 7e on a 90cm offset using a normal lnb. I nabbed 7e first and lowered the dish a little bit to nab 5e. What I could not get was 7w with an additional lnb, guess due to the dish size. From experience, you'll only get 7W if the lnb is at the focal point. If not, then you'll get 7.3W.
