African Satellite World and Sat Gear

Interesting seems like the 3 musketeers are very serious. Do a scan on your stb or digital TV and you will see they have a freq with the name ADN hosting qtv, ktn, ntv and citizen tv

What's the frequency or channel number?

How much are you selling the C band dishes? Sorry if you had mentioned it somewhere else.

I don't have any that i intend to sell right now maybe later.Did i say i have one? ama nimejisahaulisha?

the
set-top box the three will sell comes internet enabled,
not sure whether this means ethernet port or Wifi card
on-board. The article also does not reveal what comes
on board the low priced set-top box so at this point we
do not know what compromises it comes with or
whether they will choose to subsidize the product to
arrive at the Kshs 2000 price.

At last a more sober comment. In the end am sure they will have better video and audio quality than the ---- others have been peddling around. And very likely their decoders will be better of course than the trash being peddled on the streets- I won't name them but most of u are victims (of almost unusable decoders) . I stand & would pay for quality if that's what it takes.

40K is just 4 dishes so prove you have them and get the money PAP!!
:llama:

aii bwana 10k for a bud??? furthermore am not saying i need just that one thing , my list is long.Wacha tuone hii mambo next Month hivi right now am tied up elsewhere, secondly four dishes would take sometime to make and time is what we dont have at the moment.

It will be good if their decoders will be advanced. That is the essence of technological innovation. However I think trash is a strong word to use on the stbs that are currently in the market, plus we don't even know whether those so called advanced ones are really advanced. The article was as vague as they come. About paying for their current content, sorry but no. I will not.

Trash is exactly the word. I know tens of people that bought them, got ulcers and ditched them. They were poorly designed and hastily produced. In essence, they only helped in driving those poor souls back to the hands of hungry pay tv providers such as big bro and zku!

Hi fat family, armed with a z#k# Dish, eurostar twin lnb and Eurostar ES 10 decorder, what bird can I nab? Am in kitale

Hi, i am no guru. Please confirm your actual size of dish. Z*ku is probably 60cm. Since your dish is offset, i am assuming the LNB is Ku. Well, you can try
  1. Eutelsat 16A at 16E
  2. Amos 5 at 17E.
  3. Astra 2F at 28E.
  4. Nilesat 201 at 7W
  5. Eutelsat 7A/7B at 7E
  6. Sirius 4 and 5 (SES 5, Astra 4A at 5E
  7. NSS 12 @57
  8. NSS 14 at 22W

Disclaimer,
I am not a guru, just an armchair satellite footprint hunter.

Current challenge they face is how to combine 'durability' with 'cheapness' / low price. Do not expect a Sh.2500 STB to last long! Even the *Samsutech* (Started at Sh.4995; now on promotion for Sh.2995 – see the advert below) and the *Rockdale-REL816* (Sh.4500) have serious issues. The power adaptor of *Rockdale* blows in the event of a slight power outage, then, around the same time, often, the processor in the STB crashes. The *samsutech* has a poorly-designed LCD-element display which goes off when the STB heats up after several hours of watching. Shelf-life for both gadgets is one year. Tried to sell them around and was faced with countless customers wanting a refund within the "12 month warranty" year. So far, I have not heard complaints from two customers who bought the white XIPOINT HDT7205T2 ‘Microville' STB two years ago at Sh.6500 ...... and both customers do not own even a simple voltage stabilizer / power surge protector such as a TV-guard!
However, the XIPOINT requires a perfectly aligned antenna in comparison with the cheaper models which work with any Do-it-yourself UHF array.

I have had mine for sometime now and have no complaints at all. But as we have said, let's see what the advanced one will offer.

Even pay tv providers are no better. There is one in particular whose stb is terrible. I know most people excluding me own it cause its vigorously advertised. Even merely changing channels on that one can take upwards of 5 seconds.
