African Satellite World and Sat Gear

Good Morning,

Currently on Intelsat 17 C-Band.

Dish size 2.4 meters (8 foot) solid Pimefocus + Eurostar C-Band lnb, model ESCDT-700

Use frequency 3845 V DVB-S SR 27692 to track the bird.

Snap shots of some of channels on Intelsat 17 + signal strength using Strong Srt 4922 receiver.
Photos taken today morning>>>>

With a brand new dish you can get slightly higher signal strength, as my dish is both old and has fallen off the roof 3 times but still kicking.

Turning dish back to Measat 3/3A

Blessed Sunday.

Good morning Kungu

what is good on measat3/3A? am thinking of investing in 2.4m pf.

sure, wanted to ask for advice first before hunting for it,,,,I hope those guys don't ask me for a Tv license coz I gat none, bro down here is there is too much bureaucracy,,,will get back to u once I spot the gadget

Hallo, I got mine in Joburg and they didnt ask for tv license, I was taken to the shop by a friend. After testing in Nai, I had to sell it away coz of having to switch between that one, strong and Bein and issues of adding FTA channels. So far strong is serving well.

Hello I did this satellite last year to some Indian friend and can say the signal is pretty good even on 6ft dish here in Mombasa, happy hunting

For those who've used both the BeIN HUMAX IR-1000S and the TECHNICOLOR DSI722AJS; if either was offered at the same price, which one would you recommend (vis-a-vis image quality, interface, FTA - blind scan, multimedia options, channel zapping, interactivity, etc. I don't care about the about the STB design)? I've to make a decision before 12:00Hrs EAT tomorrow. Thanks in advance for any input!

findout ur experience copied loud and clear, I guess my strong is still strong afterall,,,thanks buddy

Am in TeamBein...it has never let me down..when it comes to the epl, it takes it to a whole new level, but you have to subscribe to enjoy and it comes married with the card. My experience with the Technicolor is limited, but all I can say is that if you want quality..Bein is the way, if you want fancy gadgetry technicolour is the one for you..:bump:

Thank you, Tony Stark

I want to get BeIN mainly for formula one. BeIN uses Sky sp**ts F1 commentary which for my taste is better than the world feed/BBC commentary used by dsthieves. TECHNICOLOR DSI722AJS like HUMAX IR-1000 is the other reasonably priced BeIN sp**TS decoder (images attached). I want recommendation(s) for which of the two you find better (price & external design aside). I watched a few youtube videos in this regard and to be honest I liked the Technicolor interface but someone I talked to (who already has the Humax he bought in Maghreb) told me Humax is better and slightly more expensive, which makes sense. Those who've used the Humax IR-1000s & the Technicolor DSI722AJS, which one do you find "better"?

On the same note, to continue watching ADTV (skynews HD, national geographic HD, MBC HD etc ) thru OSN, if one has to get their decorder, ill have to take out the IR2020 off the cabinet. Has any member migrated to OSN - ADTV package?

Kenya's Wananchi Group is to lease capacity on the Yamal 402 satellite following a new agreement between the media company's subsidiary iSAT Africa and Russia's Gazprom Space Systems (GSS).

Under the terms of the agreement, Dubai-based iSAT Africa will use the satellite's southern beam for services in the Democratic Republic of Congo and other Central African countries.

"Yamal-402 satellite perfectly meets our requirements due to its high power and the wide Ku-band coverage zone, allowing us to use it for the small regional networks as well as for pan-African VSAT networks in Sub Sahara region," said Santosh Sakpal, technical manager at iSAT Africa.

"We are planning to further develop our services on this satellite and are very interested in the extension of our partnership."

Dmitriy Sevastiyanov, director general, GSS , added: "We are glad to welcome a new African partner on board our satellite. Gazprom Space Systems counts on a fruitful and long-term cooperation with such a well-known company as iSAT Africa."

The move follows a recent tie-up between the satellite operator Eutelsat and iSat Africa for the delivery of a digital terrestrial television (DTT) service in East Africa.

The channels are showing but no Audio using SRT4922HD.Some forums members claim that solid 9030 STB have the audio on those channels.Any input is welcome.
