I have a friend with astrovox 290 but an installer who did the installation for him inputted a password so that he could be only one doing the job for him, any idea on how to break the password?

You can also try to restore your receiver to factory defaults. This method has worked on many types of receivers.

Here is my new Chinese made 180cm (6ft) offset dish fully assembled. It is partly meshed as you can see.
Please note the attached Chinese made twin Ku-band LNB with its conical scalar.
I now get all tps on 7E including 11618 V 30000 with Nat Geo and the good music with video.
My 11618 V comes in at 65% quality on SRT 4922 and this is the lowest tp, while others reach 98% quality which seems to be the absolute maximum you can get on Strong receivers.
I will soon add more LNBs to nab SES 5 and Nilesat Group on the same dish to reduce acreage on my dish farm.

The dish is a pure beauty to behold.

Please don't foil it.

Try out on Badr 5 (My HD ) frequencies.

I'm curious kungu1, why should he not foil it? That's the thing that came to mind when I saw those holes on the reflector

It is because of its aesthetic value.

:A S 39: You do make a valuable point, foiling the dish will make it look very ugly. Plus there is no way the foil will be perfectly smooth. The manufacturers also had that in mind to prevent wind from uprooting the dish plus keep all the Ku band waves in check by having holes that are smaller than the wavelength of Ku band waves.

It seems there are even much smaller perforated offset dishes

Ebru Africa is quite informative and has tonnes of interesting stories and some movies every now and then, but insofar as investing a 90cm dish is concerned - no no, it is available on all the CAK approved FTA decoders, as well as CCTV, and other NEWs channels...:couch2:

it has nice series.I watched COLD FEBRUARY for 86 episodes without missing a single episode for more than 1year.It is clean without obscene stuff...and nice action movies

I tried the codes but none worked,
@ Dejumbo , can't do a factory reset too coz it is locked. I told the guy to keep trying different numbers procedurally

It is possible but you won't get all the tp's on 36E. I have a similar setup on 100cm with also 68.5E

Thanks to a very useful tip by my good old friend msondaa ,signal strength and quality has remarkably improved on Eutelsat 7A on 7E.
For those using prime focus it basically it involves using the c band scalar rings.( see photos below). In my case i am using a 180cm with a fuji lnb. It has now hit me how important the rings are and are essentially part of the lnb.

so anyway now enjoying channels that were previously unavailable.

BBC persia tp is currently at S84% Q90% - thats according to SRT 4950H among my favorites on the sat - CNN,BBC,Discovery SC,discovery,e2,BBC knowledge,MTV hits,MTV,Nickelodeon,Eurosport,disney,E!
