Hi Guys, my first post here. Have learnt a bit and confused too abut but glad a lot.

Location Nairobi, along langata road, Am with d..v with a DSD 3 U decoder( those new black ones) and a 90cm dish and like hell I hate the service already. Repeats galore.

I want to move to the FTA world and these are my preference
1: EPL, Laliga, CL, and world soccer in general
2: Formula 1
3: Movies. ( Latest, d...v gives me 1980 movies at times.
4: Nature ( Nat geo etc)
5: History Channel, Discovery ID channel and crime investigation channels.

now question is this, who can prod me along in the what how when and where and how much costs etc?

been following posts for a while and I feel its time to install my own fta gadgets.am planning to install this as a project which I feel will be more interesting.
have some silly questions hope someone might assist to make me understand b4 I commit myself.

location - mombasa
position - lat 4.2 long 39.7

1 - obstruction - what effect will 20 - 25% obstruction to the dish do to the reception - the thing is the best position I have for a 1.8 m dish will have a 20-25% obstruction. will this cause major reception decline ? if I go for a smaller dish I don't see an obstruction possibility.

2 - if I go for a smaller dish will I be able to do Bein sports package with it bcoz someone is gifting me with the decoder soon.

3 - I have seen more than one LNB on a dish. where do all these connected cables go ?(different receivers or they enter a common connector b4 going to the single receiver).

What? Man long live fta, that SABC channel was very clear and almost 1
min ahead of muvi tv and kbc. Etvs picture is very dull. If SABC goes $
my hope is muvi tv. Today i will blindscan those etv feeds on SES 5, i thought they dissapeared.
Today everyone check Euronews channel for the doc about WC satellite coverage, the amazonas sat is the main sat.

your expectations are very high man, you would need alot of commitment
and cash to satisfy all that. Welcome to ASAS Eutelsat 8west and
Eutelsat7west will start you off well.
For dish size bro Mirjangi will help you more on that, you live in the same area.
To connect multiple dishes to one decoder, you need a DiSEqC switch. A 4X1 swich costs around Ksh250 while a 8X1 switch costs around Ksh1000
