Good evening gurus,please can someone come to my rescue;i have a eurostar 90cm dish and astrovox 9000hd.how can i manage to nab goodies from 7e,4 the past 2 days on the roof w/o success.wat am doing wrong cos the only signal bar which rises is written L90% Q0%.but at times L% reduces to 70%.am a novice.wat are the uses of the calibrations behind the dish labelled 30-90?

For this satellite, you'll require a dish bigger than 90cm. Have a look at the recommended sizes here:

I was using an orange 3g modem to watch bein sports channels with 4922 but for now the channels could go off moments to kick off and return imediately after the games end. Whats the cause to that?

i will attempt to answer the second one. Yes, you have to tell the receiver which satellite is connected to which port so that it can switch it on at the appropriate time. this is the diseq signal's job. once you tell the receiver where the nilesat lnb is, it tells the diseq thing to get crackin'! turn on that port so we can scan it":majani7:. and it switches off the other one that you are not using.
carefully label your cables while out there and note which port they go to. if you confuse any, you will run round in circles :confused2:for quite a bit. The transponders you expect to be found will be on a totally different port so nothing will make any sense. it will especially be painfull if one or more of those lnb's are in the C-Band. :A S-cry:

Hi members. I am requesting anyone who has an up to date .CNDF Channel data file for the strong decoders and others that use the same channel file format, to upload the file for us. This is especially for those who have nabbed multiple satellites in their setups. This will help the beginners to track satellites with ease. To do this you should insert the USB stick into the decoder and save the channel list like a back up ---- .CNDF, then upload the file for accessibility by other members of the forum.

I am glad you have been enjoying MBC channels FTA. However, they started showing some message on their screen to the effect that they were moving. The language was Al Shabaab.

What I quickly did was to look into my array of decoders and voila! I still have my ADMC decoder that is married to the card. I have renewed my subscription this morning (3,500 Ksh) and it will run for another 1 year. This is actually FTA. For 1 year, you get to enjoy all the MBC channels, NatGeo Wild, NatGeo Pple, Natgeo, Sky News, Fox TV, Fox Movies, ADMC Sports (Nothing much) But all these things are in HD!


Therefore for now, please just subscribe to ADMC at this very cheap rate and avoid the heartache that comes with losing your loved channels!

From experience, when these goodies become wholly FTA, there is a reason to fear. It means that they are about to change encryption and when they go back to scrambled, even the few FTA that were there will now not be available. That is what BiGBro does!

Hi guys. Now that GUEST CHANNEL ses5 is hosting Nat Geo Gold albeit for a month, this simple sat-combo may interest some of you. I've been using it for more than one year. Dish size 60cm(formerly Gtv's). Main lnb locked to Amos5 whilst the top lnb is dedicated to ses5. Please not that signal Quality is at its maximum best for both sats.

Both lnbs have been enjoned with weaved alluminium wires( ile ya stima). I lykd them coz they are easy to play with, firm, rust free(unlike binding wires) and in my case avilable. Besides, unaweza kureplace main lnb w/o affecting top lnb.

After lots of tweaking I was able to get 8w n 7w minus the news channels!!! Good thing is that am getting fox channels. Super great.

Guys I would advise you simply to buy and install a different dish 130cm if possible for 8 west for peace, I did that, this business of getting 201 and 8w on one dish can give asas members high blood pressure on bad whether your dish will move and you will not see anything.

I did manage to get the 3 sats by luck. I was aiming for ,7W and 5E below it only to get 2 sets of MBC one with the banner the other without. Its after getting Aljazera America it hit me that 8W. I lost signal strength on 7W in the process.

I have managed to achieve just this.. 2 lnbs on one dish getting 4 sats. - SES 5,Eutelsat 7 West A,Eutelsat 8 West A, and Nilesat 201



If you are not patient and want an easy way out ,I would recommend taking SAT2's advice of dedicating a small dish entirely for 8w. As for me I have had no trouble at all ever since I struck this seemingly elusive thin balance.

And by the way signal quality from the mbc tp has risen to 64%, i think they may have upped transmit power owing to public pressure.

You must have a connection to Dubai or Arab region. However, you may also want to buy it from Mombasa but It will be double the price and the subscription period will not be quaranteed.

When hunting down 7.0W + 7.3W +8.0W combination on one dish on a cloudy April day, your ASAS symptoms can only graduate from category "stable" to "acute"!

Following disappearance of the MBCs on 7.3W, am going back to the roof after a 4 month break. I was lastly seen up there on 12[SUP]th[/SUP] December, when I tried a feat to combine 7.3W with 7.0E and 5.0E [see link to the post: https://www.jamiiforums.com/tech-gadgets-and-science-forum/388522-african-satellite-world-and-sat-gear-163.html#post8104728].

During those days, I sacrificed my the news channels on Nile201 (7.0W) but salvaged them from the 7E goodies (European beam). In addition, I lost my beloved Dubai-One too, which I compensated by fixing a 90Cm on Yahsat-1. Now I get it in glorious HD!

Well, the MBCs are gone! It time to dust off the tracking gadgets and tweak the 7.3W LNB on the above setup, at least to ‘stream-in' the 8W. By the way, I had noticed in 2012 that even a 65Cm dish could track the 8W; then later the beam became weaker.

FTA is all about chasing elusive channels jumping from one bird to the next, forever. Just like a member has hinted / prophesied, the days of free goodies on 7E are almost over ………. I can smell the coffee too!
We will just climb the roof-tops and redirect our Big Ugly Dishes ……!
