The entire ASAS family, I am not yet sorted. I have an 8 port DiseQc switch but when I open Dish Setting on SRT 4922, there are options for selecting LNBs on a 4 and 16 ports DiseQc switches only.

1. Can lack of an 8 port one (setting) affect my reception since I have connected 3 LNBs but have not yet been able to receive any channel.
2. Is it a must that one choose which LNB port is being used and in my case how do I choose for the 3 LNBs connected to it?

I've never used SRT 4922 but I think it must be having settings for DiSEqC 1.0 and DiSEqC 1.1. Use DiSEqC 1.0 for 4 LNBs and DiSEqC 1.1 for more that 4 LNBs. You can even connect 32 LNBs to the 8 port DiSEqC.

The important thing is the type of the switch you have not the number of LNBs connected.If you use the 8 switch then set it to 8 port settings and will work.

It's working well with my Strong 4950H as well as 4922A. Well, now that i have internet connectivity in my 4950H, i have taken 4922 to storage. I prefer the interface of 4950 and the ability to sort channels in an easy way.

Glad to know you succeeded.You can see the brand name does not matter only the chipset is what counts.

If your first lnb is for receiving nilesat and it is connected to port 1 of your diseqc switch for example, go dish setting choose nilesat, scroll down to diseqc 1.1 and choose port 1 then exit and save.

Dear family, I was over the weekend setting up my 90cm dish and have some issues;

1. I wanted to track Yahsat 1A but it's not listed among the other satellites on my Strong SRT 4922. So the question is, can I track it and/or how can I add it to the satellite list?
2. Before dakness engulfed the city, I had only managed to receive Family 1 TV that couldn't show anything. It indicated "Bad or No Signal". What can I do for the TP that it's in it to hit green?

i will attempt to answer the second one. Yes, you have to tell the receiver which satellite is connected to which port so that it can switch it on at the appropriate time. this is the diseq signal's job. once you tell the receiver where the nilesat lnb is, it tells the diseq thing to get crackin'! turn on that port so we can scan it":majani7:. and it switches off the other one that you are not using.
carefully label your cables while out there and note which port they go to. if you confuse any, you will run round in circles :confused2:for quite a bit. The transponders you expect to be found will be on a totally different port so nothing will make any sense. it will especially be painfull if one or more of those lnb's are in the C-Band. :A S-cry:

was your chipset subjected to any tax? What was the cost of postage?

No tax, I've imported 12 items via Aliexpress, only 2 were charged duty because they were bulky. If the package is bulky, it gets charged duty.
The seller offered free shipping so total cost was Kshs 454.91 ( $5.1)
Still on issue of duty, I imported a Qsat 13g decoder via DHL. Picked it last week and was pleasantly surprised when it didn't attract duty. The cheapest deal locally was Kshs 12k, managed to get it at $101.9 from Aliexpress.
